Certainly on FG-1D Corsairs there is a dive brake.
The undercarrage selector in the cockpit labelled as such.
It lowers the main gear only and should only be used under 200knots for dropping bombs tanks etc.
Above this speed you will rip the tail wheel doors off.
Speaking to Corsair veterans this was very handy for accurate dropping of weapons against dug in troops.
Always enjoy my long chats with Howard at Legends!!
Glad to hear he is ok
When he crashed in the corsair he was flying again the next day
They make em tough in the Marine corps……
pete jarvis i think
Not sure if chris bevan ever flew for Omfc
We dont want any harm coming to you
“Cause i am the one and only “:D
Everybody seems keen on warbirds from europe visiting legends.
The problem here is getting pilots skilled enough to take part.
Seem to remember a visiting pilot from europe getting his DA pulled very quickly during one show.He wont be back in a hurry and nor will the aircraft he was flying.
Safety is the keyword here.
Beaufighter over Duxford…
Just how long are we going to eagerly wait?
More chance of the Sea Fury Flying.
Then again……

This F7F Tigercat was sold to Richard Bertea in California in Feb 1992,it was flown for some years and is now up for sale.
It was flown back to the states via the northern route by Mike Wright ,who some years later flew TFCs Tigercat back the other way.
Lea Aviation who operated the Tigercat in the UK,had the aircraft overhauled before Paul Warren Wilson flew it via the southern route to Manston then in fading daylight, into Duxford.
It had previously been a Fire bomber with SIS_Q flying service in santa rosa coded E 43

Paint job..mmmm
Me and a local ex painter spotted some roundels on the floor the other day were they yours?????
just out of interest, who is pencilled in to fly this on completion?
Bob the Builders done a lovely job there……;)
Ray Stutsman made a fantastic job of this P47.
Way back in the 1980s as well, long before stock rebuilds became fashionable.
It really is only a good restoration project now though.
Shame….
