Does any one know what happened to the US project to stick a linear actuator in instead of a steam cat?

Did they publish information about the type of setup used? was it just one V one? what model Su-27 was it ? if it was the earlier models then theirs nothing to be happy bout at all. if its the later Su-30MKK models (hmm wait thats naval isnt it or is that the MKK2??? ) then its something to boast about.

But it does show if true, that the J-10 is near operational ,and if this wasnt a one off they might be trying to work out the best tactics to use in an airwar. some type of doctrine. which is also cools and means we should see it at airshows soon.

Haley those shodowy pics u post could be any aircraft with canards, it is hard to ID the aircraft, its easier to tell the kind of trees and the composition of the branches then the aircraft, is it a Gripen? or a EFA ?

Any clues as to what the Indian! i mean Indian AEW, or AWACs is going to look like?

not really, because i doubt the B-2 or the F117 will go obsolete that soon. And if the next generation of strike aircraft are aimed at the new potention foe(s) then i believe the better option would be to go in for hypersonic platform.

Please consider that the R&D is very very important and from now till then the US will be working its ass of to out do each succesive technology.

considering that the US has been trying to of load P3’s (?) onto India and other regions (please see current flight int for details) i am not suprised it took so long. US is prob trying to ofload the surpluce it has, onto india. Or trying to delay the signing as much as possible.
