What would be the cost of adding a ski ramp? How much would it cost then?

As what? Its too big for IN. Mistral class would suit them fine.

Are you saying IN would not use trenton as LPD and wait till a disaster strikes to use it???Thats pretty much what you have been hollering in the last few posts.

Funny becouse his first post does not say that. Even if that was the case maybe you could explain why he was asking about Indian amphibious armored fighting vehicles? Clearly both issues were on his mind.

The last sentence is just a classic example of trolling.

Read the topic. Here let me repeat it for your slow comprehension.. ” India and Future Amphibious ships”. Saipan fits the bill and that is exactly what scooter meant. Not if saipan can be acquired next time tsunami strikes??? I was just pointing out that Mistral size is what IN would be aiming for

Yes trenton is the beginning of Indian amphibious capabilities because how IN trains on the trenton will determine its future capabilities. It is not going to be docked till the next tsunami strikes. Comprende senor???

Yes and scooter actually meant that saipan would be great addition to IN for typhoon/ tsunami relief.  . The question is about amphib capability so stick to that.
I seriously hope english isn’t your mother tongue .:D

Trenton was purchased for whatever you mentioned but we are talking about saipan here. IN has already shown interest in acquiring something like Mistral class and hence they are no doubt interested in Amphibious capability.

WHo said IN would do so? They would definitely use trenton to learn how to handle such a large LPD but that does not mean they won’t use them for humanitarian assistance or will attack anyone. The ship is too old to go through something that rigorous.

The saipan is a good ship, no doubt but I don’t think IN can handle it currently. I mean the largest ship they have operated yet is only 28 K tonnes. Let them first handle the gorky and IAC. Also in LHA/LHD dept IN would prefer something like Mistral class (20 K tonne). I am not sure if Saipan can be converted to CTOL A/C, in that case it is definitely worth a look.

I am guessing the typhoon would be tranch-1 version. Would the MKI’s be Mk-3 or Mk-2?

Well since you have no idea what SAm 054 will carry there is no point in saying it is superior now is it?:D . No for me ASuW is anti sub and AshM is anti-ship, ofcourse I am not following any set nomenclature. And if 054 comes with C-803 then its actually superior in range to harpoon. Seems like you can only blusterwithout claiming or knowing anything?

The OHP with SM1 is superior in AAW compared to type-054a. The ASuW is better in both OHP and T-23, especially since they can also carry two helicopters instead of one. Secondly OHP will be available in numbers and more readily in 3-4 years compared to 054 which will take nearly a decade to build and complete.

Oh and how is a ship equipped with mediocre chinese radar and electronics better than t-23 or upgraded OHP’s? Of course your answer will be you have no clue, but fact remains the chinese ships are still suspects and no decent navy wants to buy any ship from china only desperate ones like pakistan.
