Matt, don’t worry no one in India trusts US. After all 40-45 years of relationship with russia will not be sacrificed for the likes of US. As long as Indo-US chai-biscoot ceremony continues without affecting russia supplying us uranium on the side and India working actively towards self reliance and deterrence (A-3/4), I see no harm in it. India has offered nothing to US.

I wish the India poclitic had the guts to stick its fingers up at the US sometimes, i find it rather cheeky of something like this being mooted by the US even while their are people of Indian Origin in jail in the US for buying technology they are ready and willing to sell to our greatest rival.

I hope congress wakes up some day.

Don’t worry There is almost zero probability of this happening. The commies and leftists supporting the govt will pull it down. 😀 😀 😀 . Hurray for democracy. :diablo:

The F-22p is on loan so they have time to pay it off. I am sure they would expect a similar deal for 054.

IAF chief has already ruled out splitting the order. It will be 126 Mig-35 as we will see very soon. More importantly IAF needs to get 200 LCA into service soon.

How come SL doesn’t have any chinese radar? Did the quality of chinese military goods scare them off. OFcourse even pakistan doesn’t want chinese radars or EW equipment I wouldn’t be surprised if SLAF went for more Indra-II or some russian or israeli radar. Frankly 2 radars is ridiculous.

The Mig-29k can carry 13 missiles, why can’t mig-35 carry the same?

Because the F-16 is being backed by the USAF and you can gaurantee that their is a lot of political pressure for the congress government to buy it.

yeah right!! US govt has more influence than ruskies in India   . USAF can keep wishing it won’t be an american aircraft for MRCA.

Why would they want to do that? Mig-35 is the logical choice.

Hmmm How does MKI simulate any chinese Su-30? The radar and other avionics are completely different. MK-1 would have been closer but are there any left in India?

IAF Mig-29’s haven’t had much safety issues. In the last 20 odd years there have been 3-4 crashes. Only Mirage-2000 has a better record currently.

The IN defines its area of interest from the east coast of africa to south china sea. (In some cases straits of hormuz to malacca strait. To cover such a large area you need something that can replace the old Tu-142M’s and Tu-22M3 seems possible.

The Super Hornets airframe is much newer than Mig-35…………So, you’ve lost me yet again?

It carries over all the flaws of the mediocre f-18 hornet. New != good. New in this case is still crappy and bad design.

With most Air Combat happening at BVR. I don’t see the advantages of the Mig-35………….

With the mediocre airframe like F-18 no one see’s any point in going for F-18E/F.
