I think bmibaby went for too many bases in too short a space of time. Some of the routes seem strange to me too, Bordeaux for example – although I have no idea how that is going. I wouldn’t be surprised if their losses were around that figure, but this is just my opinion and not based on any facts. They have always just seemed to me to be doing things a bit rushed. Perhaps they didn’t want to lose out at the bases they have chosen and they have accounted for that and expected these losses, if they are real.
If it is G-OZBE, it is the second aircraft in a matter of a couple of months that I have been on an aircraft that has had a crash(G-JMAB is the other one).
Crash? Come on, behave yourself there! ๐ก

Whereabouts at NCL to you get the close-up ground shots? They are fantastic! Are the air-bourne shots taken at the Dinnington Road end of the runway?
Some (possibly all) of the SAAB340’s used by Business Air in the 90’s had 2 rear-facing seats in row 1. They also had an aisle facing seat on the back row!! ๐ฎ By this, I mean a seat that looked up the aisle and not on to it from the side!!! ๐
From memory, the following were the Gill Shorts (during my service)
G-BNYI, G-RMCT, G-DASI, G-OLAH, G-BLZT, G-KBAC, G-BHHU (330), G-BIOE (330) AND G-BVMX (in the thread above) looks familiar too – can anyone else confirm?
The routes that Gill used the Shorts on, again during my service, were: NCL/BHD, NCL/ABZ, ABZ/WIC, MME/ABZ, EDI/LBA, PIK/BHD. And at one point, NCL/MAN AND NCL/LGW I believe. The 330 was more or less out of service when I joined Gill in 1997 but it was used on pax services occasionally when absolutely necessary.
So, for me, it was from one airline with 330’s (Shorts) to another with 330’s (Airbus, of course!!) ๐
Tailstrikes are more likely on landing than take off.
I was surprised to hear that tailstrikes can happen on landing, I must admit. ๐
That’s what I call Kincold ! ๐ฎ
Tee-hee – well done Ren. ๐
๐ฎ It seems you are correct ๐ฎ
33″ in economy is bloody generous for a charter airline. OMG!! ๐ฎ
I believe it says that FCA’s premium cabin is 36″ pitch so that would beat Monarch I’m afrain Dรผsseldwarf.
Hey! You’re right (in a way), EAL_KING did type 36″ but the chart that he has attached states 33″. Hmmmm? Which one is it?
Well, it doesn’t really matter, just that Monarch SHOULD win, right! ๐ ๐
All I know that I’m putting my weekly MAN trip reports on here that is a fact of life!
Already, I think this is the wrong kind of thing to be posting here MANAIRPORTMAD. Trip report on this forum to me means more ‘flight report’ than ‘visit to airport report’. Your photos from spotting ‘trips’ to your local/favourite airport would be best left on the normal forum.
My vote is against this sub-thread for trip reports unless it remains solely for ‘flight reports’ (which I do think is a good idea)
Dean.
Shouldn’t this post be deleted too if the event didn’t happen? Not a nice thread title to have lying around if it’s not true.
Anyone fancy a Madeira meet? ๐ Ren, A330Crazy and Silver Snapper – remember your cameras! ๐
Sorry First Choice but Monarch have an even better seat pitch in their Premium cabin. ๐

1. 10 minutes to landing. This is Madrid-Getafe airfield.
If that’s where you ‘getafe’ – where do you ‘get on’? ๐  ๐ฎ
YOU WERE WARNED!!!! ๐
I have to air an opinion on this one, I’m afraid.
I think flight reports and photos and the most enjoyable part of this forum, as they relate directly to the experiences of the members who make the forum work. It can’t all be about ‘this airline needs this plane’ and ‘my airline’s better than yours’. That WOULD make it less fun. The trips reports MUST stay. And photos, the best bit, defo MUST stay. After trip reports and photos are posted, so many people say thanks to the author for their work. Isn’t this what a public forum should really be all about? I think it is, personally.
There are a lot of pointless (one word) posts made on this forum, they are what should be curbed.
