Got to ask Mongu – what does Skiaynin Vannin mean? I assume it is Manx?
Mongu
I sincerely would love to see Monarch do Australia flights – just for the sake of using my staff travel benefits to go there!!!
I think we’ll only be seeing ZB stick to shorter, European, flights for the foreseeable
Does anyone know how bmi’s EDI/SYY (Stornoway) daily service is doing? Just out of interest.
They flew to SYD for a year (or two?) – charter flights, of course. That was a good few years back now
I reckon Air Wales would be favourites to pick up the route – LCY wouldn’t be a bad choice either I don’t think!
Hello.
I supervise a department of 15 people in Monarch Airlines accounts department dealing solely with Monarch Scheduled revenue. We are basically the people who account for the money brought in from ticket sales (or given back in refunds!) and make sure that it hits the company’s books in tact and in full. We also ensure that all travel agent transactions are paid to us properly and various other sources of income are received and other outgoing expenses are accounted for . Very hard to make it sound the least bit interesting – but 10 years on, I love the kind of work I do. Monarch is my third employer within the industry. I previously worked for Business Air, a small Scottish regional carrier and Gill Airways, a small Newcastle-based regional carrier, doing the same kind of work.
This is an exciting time to be working for Monarch (Scheduled). Our capacity between Summer 2002 and the current Summer schedule increased by over 80%. Routes flown currently are below. Tell all your friends about us – coz we’re really no’ bad!!

Remember this series is about Monarch – so a different airline it is indeed this time. Monarch seem to have a much better reputation than easyBunch – I hope that this is reflected in the remaining episodes!!
With the few episodes I watched, I’m still not a great fan of the show. I believe that my good friend Dawn (Manchester Ticket Desk Supervisor) features in episode 4 (or the second one to be broadcast this time round) – she may well liven things up!!
Whereabouts at LHR is this fantastic photo opportunity spot?? Please tell – I’ve got to get down there!! 🙂
Hope Celtic bring that cup back to Scotland. Have a great trip Ren. Enjoy the game and the planes!!
Dean.
Here’s the photo just as the aircraft was leaving the runway…..that’s one mother of a crosswind!!
Hope you have a great trip Ren. Especially the ZB sectors!
Let me know what you think of Monarch Scheduled’s service when you return. As it’s a new route for Monarch Scheduled (only started on 1st May), I will be interested to hear an opinion of someone who is interested in the industry.
Regards,
Dean.
I’m not too bad either on a dial up connection – about the same times as kev.
By the way, that is a cracking pic of the plane in the “Siemens” livery. Love it!
Delay? Monarch? Hmmph!!
Hope you have a good trip!
Good point Ren. Although, if people are willing to pay for it to guarantee a slightly more comfortable flight – then I can see why a low cost airline would consider charging it.
Personally, I don’t know what all the fuss is about. I’ve never struggled for legroom on any aircraft – but I am only a wee lad standing at 5′ 4”!!
Back to the original question…
….does anyone know of any other Ryanair routes currently operated with the Buzz BAe146’s for sure??
