I am a regular Ryanair flyer but that doesn’t necessarily make me an instant fan. I use them simply because they are cheap and they alone would have allowed me to travel abroad 11 times between January and June this year.
I can understand why people are miffed when things like this happen, I really can. However, as long as they are cheap, people will fly with them and be prepared to put up with their antics. Eventually, everyone will have had a bad Ryanair experience and then it won’t be news any longer.
When flying Ryanair, I apply this philosophy – “If I expect nothing then I can’t be disappointed!”
Given the choice, I’d much rather fly with easyJet (and I’d much rather fly from LTN than STN too!)
3) Is it Midway Airlines?
10) Luqa?
Hi purser
Welcome aboard. This forum is soopoib. Full of good info and fabbo pictures. You’ll have hours of fun here.
Also, no-one has mentioned it yet but it is customary for the new guy to get the pints in – so, it’s your round. Guinness please! π
Surely it can’t be a Maersk/Duo BA franchise aircraft? This is the livery of the Danish Maersk Air and I’m not sure that they fly CRJs? Could it be a corporate jet of the owners of Maersk Air Denmark? I think I saw a CRJ in Maersk livery (but without titles, just like this one), in CPH years ago.

Thanks for the info Dan777. I quite fancy trying out Slovakia itself. It would be a shame, in my opinion, if the airline was to transport people to Slovakia only for them to then travel out of the country to a neighbouring land.
However, I can see the appeal of Vienna being so close and I don’t suppose the airline will mind as long as there are bums on them seats!!
A million brownie points will be awarded to the first person to book a flight to Bratislava with this airline and report it on this thread.
Now, there’s a competition!!!
TAP of the league (a wee Scottish accent joke there!)
I’d have to say:
Best shorthaul – TAP Air Portugal
Best longhaul – Virgin (cos they are the only one I have flown with – but they do a magnificent service all the same!!)
Best full service UK domestic – bmi
Best low cost jobby – easyJet
Best ficticious airline – Air Scotia!!
Bugger!!!
Hi Guys.
Was really interested in trying to make it to MAN on 10th July but I’m afraid it’s not going to be possible as things stand. I’m off to AMS with Wingflaps2 on the 9th July for day (back late that evening) and then the 11th July (early morning) we’re off to GIB for 4 days. To get up so early the day in between and get back late from MAN on the 10th and the drive involved, would just be a killer for me
However, I am hopeful that your meet goes well and that there can be another one arranged at some point. If so, I look forward to meeting you all next time. I’m really gutted – would have been a good excuse to revisit MAN – not been there since the days of Business Air flying me down from DND for the day!! Would have been nice to visit my friends at the Monarch Scheduled Ticket Desk too – say hi to them from Dean if you see them!!
I’ll keep myself informed about future events:( – but feel free to let me know.
Dean.
Some cracking photos in the selection on this thread.
Got to say my particular favourite has to be the BAe146/Avro RJ (not able to identify them from each other) and curiously, the Dash 8-Q400 rather appeals to me. Not a huge Flybe. fan but would like to sample that particular machine nevertheless.
Keep ’em coming!
very good!!

Copenhagen is great. I hope you enjoy it as much as Wingflaps2 and myself did. We were there on 30th April for a day, after having flown to MalmΓΆ and then getting a bus over the Oresund Bridge into Copenhagen. The ‘scenery’ in Copenhagen is impressive too!! A nice and easy city to see on foot.
Look out for afore-un-mentioned confectionary called “Spunk”. You’ll probably be glad to hear that they are simply wine gums!! π

Just found the photo on Airliners.net – it was taken at JFK. Therefore, that mustn’t be an AF A320 – it does look a bit bigger than an A320 to be honest……..so the next question is:
Which aircraft type (besides the Concorde) is the Air France in the picture???
Dean.
A better Bristol Britannia
Ahhhhh! Ain’t she gorgeous?
I’d just like to mention……
…….that although my last two employers are now no longer and I work in Revenue Accounting, I don’t consider myself responsible for either demise!! π π
Definition of ‘trade’
Ren – I have worked for scheduled airlines for the last 10 years, throughout, doing what they call Revenue Accounting. After 4 years at Business Air (DND), I then headed south to Gill Airways (NCL) for just over two years to do the same. Nowadays, after a step up, I’m at Monarch (LTN), working solely on the Scheduled side – still Accounting for that Revenue (and thankfully there is some!!).
I hope you now understand why ‘trade’ was written as such.
Before I go and this isn’t the correct forum, I know, is the Manchester Meet an annual (or more regular) event? I’m unlikely to be able to make it to the one in July, but I would be interested in future events, should there be any more. I dare say I can drag Wingflaps2 along too.
Regards,
Dean.
Cheers for that Ren – pure dead braw so it is. And as much as it kills me to say so, that particular type of aircraft really suits the BA livery. Although, Business Air’s livery will always remain my favourite. For no other reason than they were the company that gave me my ‘trade’ – I was so happy working for them. Ahhhh! Dundee Airport will never be the same without them.
