After Switzerland, I’m not one of the ones still moaning about them selecting the Gripen over one’s precious toy. You’re confusing me with someone who gives a hoot, but it is rather pathetic when someone spouts off hypocritical claims.

Re: Brazil. If they want 150+ MMRCA, then cheaper aircraft with lower life cycle costs could be in a compelling position, in this case the Gripen. I think I would favour the Gripen in this case.

No thanks. We have had enough of those biased British simulations intended to artificially hide the not so shiny reality of the typhoon program status.
The Swiss did a joust of their own with the real aircrafts and ranked the Rafale higher in all A2A missions. That’s worth a million joust simulations run with flawed data.

Yes, I remember a blog or two of yours about Rafale & Typhoon, Kovy. And I remember those being quite biased in your wonder toy’s favour.

During the Lybian campaign, RAF Typhoon pilots regularly flew sorties that lasted well over 6 hours and I believe there were a few that lasted up to 8 hours. I don’t recall hearing or reading upon any other RAF fast jet types operating that many hours during sorties over Iraq, Serbia, Afghanistan etc. I believe RAF Tornado GR4 aircraft flew similar amount of hours when they were flying from the UK to Lybia and back home again.

Eurofighter To Join S Korean Fighter Battle!

LONDON — The Eurofighter Typhoon consortium will be the only European aircraft maker to do battle against U.S. rivals in the South Korean F-X3 fighter competition.

The Eurofighter campaign will be led by EADS CASA in Spain. The team is hoping South Korea’s interest in finding an industrial partner for the future KF-X program may offset some of the historic U.S.

BAE eyes Eurofighter Typhoon deal with KL!

The UK-based global defence and security company, BAE Systems, hopes to supply its Eurofighter Typhoon, the world’s most advanced multi-role combat aircraft to Malaysia.

BAE Systems South East Asia managing director John Brosnan said the company had submitted its proposal to the Ministry of Defence, and discussed with local industrial partners on collaboration.

“We have the best aircraft and industrial package to go with it,” he told reporters at a media briefing on the company’s Malaysia Industrial Participation today.

On the contract value, Brosnan said it was too early to ascertain the price as this depends on the number of aircraft, as well as the support level required by Malaysia.

“Once the government has evaluated the initial phase, it will issue the detailed specifications, including the support level, and we can then put in the pricing,” he added.

BAE Systems has a 30-year presence in Malaysia and has been supporting the operations of the Royal Malaysian Air Force Hawk trainers while preparing pilots to fly frontline aircraft.

If I remember correctly, I read elsewhere that this programme will feature some things that have been de-classified about these raids, not 100% sure though.

Anyway, it’ll no doubt be interesting neverless and will be a nice touch to help celebrate this British victory for The Falklands on the eve of the 30th anniversary.

Opit, I could at least say something that this little rock in the middle of the Atlantic are very good at which your country has been the victim of, and really isn’t very good at. But I’m sure thats not the way to go… 😀
