Sorry! Everything with twin fins is a Hornet to me! Any idea which model the Eagles are in the first picture?
The one at Abbotsford was a Super Hornet, though, I am sure, in which case I presume it’s an F model!
This might help a little.
The Eagles, I am fairly sure, are F-15Cs. And yes the second pic is the F model Hornet.
How do you tell the difference between a standard and a Super Hornet anyway?
The less zippy and less manouverable one is the Super Hornet. (kidding…) :p :p
Please could someone tell me if these are E models? Any other information about them would be useful for my caption writing!
Papa Lima,
They are F-15Cs. Not Hornets.
A friggin’ Farman?!?! I thought so! I was searching and searching but could not find it!
Ok, last chance! Clue for this last one, No.4. It was the loser in a French competition.
I love the Mistel!

I have given up… 🙁
Perhaps it is the only Super Hornet that is actually available for the demos?
Garry, MiG-15??
HQ-7 intercepts a missile.
That is one HELL of a smoke trail for a target missile!
My guess is that it’s a target drone/missile with a smoke generator to help the HQ-7 operator(s) visually track it, and then for steer via CLOS guidance the intercepting missiles that have been fired. Judging by the smoke trail, I don’t think this target is moving that fast as it flies by the Frigate either. I would guess that a crossing target travelling at a moderate speed directly past and within that range and at that height from the ship, the HQ-7 is probably at it’s maximum engagement capability.
I think it would be great to see a film on the Battle for Malta. 🙂
You get MISTEL in this game?!?! Hell, I can’t wait to have a crack at it. 🙂
An SMT upgrade, when you are not having an SMT upgrade Vympel?. Perhaps they are going to proceed with the SMT upgade plan but on a slightly altered scale or path to minimise cost? And I don’t see any mention of the hunchback for the extra fuel tank. Maybe this could be just an SM-without-the-T upgrade, along the lines of the Su-27SM.
Ja, if you are referring to what a Navy would aspire to have in it’s fleet, I would say Subs. Many fleets have not operated Carriers, but most, at some time, have operated Subs. The Silent Service could be considered an elite service of sorts, and they envoke fear into any and all surface combatants.
Still not right Rankl. Sorry.
That more or less sums it up. 🙂
But No.4 is still to go.
