I know WWII Fighters is old, but when I look at the screen shots of today’s games and compare it to WWII Fighters I can’t help but be impressed by the older game. The damage modelling especially is superb in WWII Fighters. I still play the game sometimes, and I just wanted to get some idea of a comparison.

The Ki-109 was the heavy interceptor version developed from the Ki-67.

There’s another sketch in the newest edition of Jane’s fighting ships. It looks like your first picture.

That would be because the final design will resemble it. I have a full colour 3D CGI image of the current design in one of my new books from Japan. Compared to the first pic Ja posted there is a change to the Island structure, and the deck shape, but the overall design and function remains the same.

Yugoslav AF MiG-29 (probably 18114) flown by LtCol. Slobodan Peric, shot down by F-15C Eagle piloted by Capt. Jay Hwang on March 25th 1999. Weapon used was two AIM-120As. Pilot ejected.

In the foreground you can see the remains of what looks like an R-73 AAM, and under the wing, the back end of an R-27 AAM possibly?
