There are heaps in storage! http://www.f-111.net/AMARC-F-111s.htm
A new one for you Srbin. Australia has just bought 12 MRH-90s for A$1 billion or about USD$700 million. The MRH-90 is a slightly modified NH-90 for the ADF. This contract includes all the offsets too. About USD$58 million a piece under this deal.
September 14, 2004-“The System Has Failed”
SOC, your sig. Is this another movie quote?
But wd1 has a good point when he says that a more careful choice of words wouldn’t harm Aussie interests, while keeping Asian neighbours calm.
Words? Fine.
Thanks starfire. 🙂
I see AvP has grossed in excess of 60 million in the US already. 🙂
Oops, sorry, it’s the Hart with a Mercury engine – I was too busy looking at the swastika! Four of these aircraft were “lent” to Finland during the winter war. The photo is still attributed to Mike J however!
Sure it’s not the Audax with a Bristol Pegasus engine?
I suspect the circles point to design differences in all the SONG class boats. Modifications you might say, or refinements.
Koike does GREAT work at least as good as any other aviation artist…saw a coffee table book of his work once, incredible stuff (loved the Corsair)…
Maybe Google him and see what you get for images…Mark
Was it this Corsair?

The UAV is a RAVEN. This is built by AeroVironment Inc, Sim Valley, California. This is a relatively new system issued/on order for the US Army in the hundreds. It has a battery powered electric motor which drives a two-bladed pusher prop.

Thanks TJ.
As an example of the blue swastika applied by Finland, here is a photo by Mike Shreeve of the Gladiator in the RSwAF Museum at Linköping.
It’s not a Gladiator. I think its a Letov, not sure.
Revealed? Is this recent or dated? Interesting picture.
australia could do with being more sensitive to its neighbours. but it seems the Howard government isn’t learning from the lessons of 1963
And these are the same neighbours that snub us when ASEAN meets!
Sorry, but ‘being sensitive’ is utterly pointless! Apeasement is what eventually led to East Timor having to be helped out by the ADF, when their independence was threatened with indirectly Indonesian-backed anarchy back in 1999. Australia has learned, but from the 70’s. Australia has the US firmly in it’s corner, perhaps even stronger now than ever before since the end of WWII. With that, there is little chance Howard is going to make defence decisions based on how the region feels, nor does he have to. If the region doesn’t like it, stiff…!! 😡
I get to see the F-111 do this every year at INDY on the Gold Coast. Indeed, very impressive! This year, however, I have a good digital camera, so will try and get some good shots of all the aerial action. Just 7 weeks to go now.
A good collection of Koike’s work.
