I think the real figures would still be highly classified.

The only figure I have have ever heard, and this is old now, was F-15C+50%. No idea what speed or altitude that figure involved.

Are the MiG-31s going back to Russia?

I think they have Vympel. But they still have some of their FULCRUMs as far as I can tell from my latest sources. This thread was started 3 and half years ago!!
    😮

One could argue that their ORBAT has changed somewhat since then..

Which aircraft delivered the 22,000 lb one?

    It was a modified Lancaster.

I think the one that was rejected because of it’s hull condition.

Well what about the Russian S-10 Granat (NATO SS-N-21 Sampson), which is near as dammit a clone of the Tomahawk?

True, but all of the GLCM systems have gone with the INF treaty. The missile however is probably still fitted to some SSNs, or could be if required.

Nah, that doesn’t make sense! Only the IDS strike aircraft were painted desert pink, not the ADV interceptors. The F-14 would have flown CAP, so no desert pink needed.

Perhaps you should ask the guy who built the model, it wasn’t me. 😉

The Bal has been in development since April 1984 alongside the air-launched Kh-35 (AS-20) and ship-launched SS-N-25 anti-ship missiles. The missile is built mainly of aluminium and has folding wings and tail fins. Its ARGS-35 active radar seeker has been developed by Leninets. The Bal cruises at an altitude of 5-10 meters, reducing to 3-5 meters during the terminal phase, and it can sink ships of up to 5,000 tons displacement. The launch vehicle carries eight missile tubes and a command post that houses the crew of six. The transporter/reloader vehicle has six reloads with a 9 ton crane and a crew of two. The combat control vehicle has an acquisition radar in the rear, a crew compartment in the middle, and an equipment compartment in the forward part. Two control vehicles can use their radars in a passive mode to detect targets. All vehicles are based on the MAZ-543M 8×8 truck chassis and equipped with gas-turbine generators for power supply.

I am also surprised by the numbers of non-stealthy features everywhere. I doubt the boat will have a real stealth advantage. Maybe the stealthy caracteristics are only coming from hull commonality and because of the electronic suite and radars they don’t expect it to be stealthy.

At least they are making an effort in the right direction I guess.

whose individual canisters are 8-10m long and about 1.5m in diameter.

With canisters of that size I suspect the missile might be longer than 6m, or have a booster attached to it within the canister which could explain its extra range. If so, it would still be pretty damn big as one combined unit. Time will tell again….
