Bulldog parts
Dear G-ASEA
Eureka!!!!!!!! Yes, yes, yes. That plate does not look like any of the information I have. The “Oil and Fuel” selector plate is a dead give away. Now…..it is possible that these parts are used on other Bristol aeroplanes of that era. That I can not tell you without more information.
I would be interested in seeing the other plates. I wish I had seen that selector plate about 6 months ago. my address is ersf2b at oregoncoast dot com.
I write it this way to confuse any spam spyware. But I am finding out that everything is smarter then me, so….
Thanks for the help.

Instrument case
Mike,
Thank you for the reply. You hit The nail on the head!!!! The standard bakelite case is the info I need.
It will be for the 2 1/4″ range (not sure, so 2 1/8 might be correct?) And it will have approx. 3/4″ of the instrument sticking out beyond and in front of the mounting ears.
These should be no problem to machine, especially with correct dimensions.
Having a correct or close looking face made up has also become an easy task.
So the question is…..can you supply any dimension?
Cheers,
Ed
Mk I oil gauge
I shall take a look at the RAF museum site and see if I can find a Mk V case.
The instruments will go in the Bulldog I am replicating, It is just becoming sooooo difficult to find needed instruments. Either they have been destroyed due to making one glow in the dark (although I have found they are wonderful for lighting the hallways while I run down the hallway with sharp scissors.).
Or the cockpit groups have grabbed what they can, or museums have grabbed the rest. The Jackson group has created some fantastic instruments that are unfortunately not for sale. Oh well. Thus mere mortals have to resort to best case senerio with ‘as close as I can get’. Thus the effort to incase the instrument in an accurate setting with proper dial.
Thank you for taking the time to answer and look thru your collection.
Cheers
Why the tilted Rev counter
I can shed light on the subject. Upon assembling the Bulldog panel I noticed a problem with the tach cable running out the bottom of the panel and into the area of the control column. (Big cable, very stiff, large radius needed). Easy fix was to rotate the instrument one series of holes counter clockwise. The cable still comes very close to interference with the oil instruments in my case.

Hope this works.
pat,
Fantastic work! You will very quickly outdo the P. Jackson site. The only problem with your site is that it leaves us all wanting more. “More Sir?”
Any chance of some construction/detail photos of the wood and the metal wings?
DTD LISTING

Redchill…..
Please give more info on how to access ‘Graham’s’ site. Need information on a Dunlop AHO 1249. Or a Dowty SP 128.
Thanks.

Source of Bristol Gray
Dear Greg V.
I happen to know that the gray colour on the pictured Fighter is a RAF Spitfire colour. I had so much left over from building the 3/4 scale Spit, that I used the rest on the Fighter. It was matched to the dark gray that was used on the gray-green camoflage style.
Now…Peter and the boys could have well repainted the metal work to a different colour when they repainted from silver to PC 10.

Drawings
Can I sue all lawyers for the angst they have caused me?
I have spent almost an equal amount of time researching as to building. Hendon is very helpful, but extremly slow. Some others never return emails, and some of the drawings that I have loaned over the years have not returned. I wish there was a repository for information. Peter Jackson has the right idea, but wrong era for me.
I have spent a costly sum accumulating my drawings, I don’t mind sharing, I only ask for a nice single malt once in a while.
Hopefully your thread will start a library.

Real or Fake Bulldog?
Kodak, If Mark, or Ian or I have not heard of a Bristol Bulldog, 99.999% that it does not exisit. Most likely a Scottish Bulldog.
Still bashing aluminum into submission. Making May “landing gear” month.

Progress
One step forward, seven back. I have managed to beat aluminum into submission to complete most of the fuselage panels. Working ahead, lead time is forever, to find an oil cooler. Not winning. Need to start soon on oil tank and tail wheel. Hope to put her up on gear this spring.
Thanks for asking. Cheers

Oil Cooler
Howard,
Sent a message to you. Having problems with my server. Answer is YES.
Cheers, ED
Buy the way, the Hendon V-P cooler is solid cast aluminum! Guaranteed to NEVER leak!
I failed typing
Yes, thank you for the correction. After I learn to type, I will learn to read.
Hopefully this means you know the answer?
