both companies use a variety of statistics to make their product seem to be the best -(the saying lies, damned lies and statistics comes to mind) but as a pax I would, where possible, chose A340/330 for long haul because of the 2-4-2 seating – it is no fun being either the middle of a row of 3 (or 5 on some carriers) or having to ask 2 people to move if sitting by a window.
Be great to see the Emb195 at Eastleigh – might get some of the nimby’s to shut up.
we were about 50yards back from the gate and once opened got through the checks with no trouble. All bags & people went through an airport type security check with 1 in 5 bags being hand searched. What really annoyed people was the number of new arrivals in the queue that just pushed in front of those who had been there for some time rather than go to the end of the long line.
last year I started to queue around 6am (having driven there) but the gates did not open until 7.30 (i think) which was a bit frustrating. As the flying display started about 10am there was not enough time to do the static area and find a reasonable spot for the start of the flying display.
Ben,
so its ok for us Brits to be critical of the eu in our own country but not elsewhere?
Barroso statement that the ratification process should continue in the rest of the eu even though under its own rules the constitution is a dead duck – it is that level of arrogance and hypocrasy that is so typical of the eu and why it is so out of touch with the people of europe.
Just how many more ‘No’ votes will it take for the unelected, unaccountable, corrupt politico’s in brussels to see that the ‘united states of europe’ is not going to happen.

where, when and route can be supplied for most of the above – how sad does that make me :)?
batch 2
what a shame – not! – about time the eu realised that there are real people out there not just a faceless mass who will follow every eu idea like sheep. Will Chirac dare to put it to another vote in the vain hope that the ‘correct’ answer will be returned as had been done for the Maastrict Treatry and Nice – both rejected by different countries yet still implemented.
As for rules being broken – just how much money has AF received from the french govt? + stabilty pact + every time the ferry ports are blocked that is breaking the freedom of movement rules etc

commercial espionage – not that you can see much in theway of detail from the overhead platform but a general view of the assembly building would be nice to have – as would pictures of the concorde / caravelle + other museum aircraft they have preserved on the site.
