What about ‘The Dambuster’s – very good film and based on reality unlike some previously mentioned or 633 squadron

Apollo 13 is another good one and the fact that, like the dambusters, it is based on reality gives it an edge. You know that they all make it back safely yet it still has the ‘edge of seat’ tension that makes it a great film.

Southampton has had an Il76 bringing in equipment for the pollution control centre and an AN12 – possibly a charter from Ford as there is a factory closeby.

As it is my local airport and I fly from there sometimes it is not bad.

It had good road / rail access and inexpensive car parking compared to LHR/LGW.

The terminal is only a few years old and is still in good condition although the departure area can be crowded at peak times (Saturday PM with 2 x 737 on charter is probably the worse at the moment) Getting into departures can also take a while as they normally only use one of the 2 x-ray machines.

If it is raining you will get wet when departing / arriving as there are no jetways and luggage can take a while to be unloaded when busy.

I think the Prague departure time is late afternoon – 5pm ish with a return at 8-9pm.

    hoep this helps.

I saw it in Moscow on 22nd August – as it was preparing to go (to Tokyo I guess) – I did not see it again until I was in the departure lounge at SVO on 27th and I could not get a piccy of it although I did get a ‘through the window’ picture of it on pushback.

    Batbay,

ta for linking to my pic on Airliners.net – there have been a couple of larger movements in the past.

Heavylift Il76 bringing in equipment for the pollution control centre in Southampton – that was impressive and I have also seen an AN12 !! there bringing in parts for the Ford factory.

The BBMF Lancaster is an ocasional visitor during the airshow season.
