Just as background information the No.2 A.A.C.U. 540 records as follows:

29.11.39 Gosport – Squadron Leader C.C. Clark arrived from Pembrey to take command of the unit, Squadron Leader O.I. Gilson who is posted to Headquarters No.17 Group.

30.11.39 Gosport – Squadron Leader C.C. Clark on his first solo in a Skua crashed in Fareham Creek near Bedenham. Squadron Leader Clark was killed and salvage operations are still taking place.

    Trust this might help.

Cheers Tim, Newark might be a possibility – depending on progress and if I’m feeling brave 🙂

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

No need to feel brave – what you have achieved to date is a credit to you and the type and goes to show what can be formed in ones garage / workshop.

Keep at it and will hopefully see you at Newark.

    Kind regards,

    Tim

Dont know if it helps but the Malta Aviation Museum have a complete Martinet canopy assembly stuck at
back of hangar. Its been there for a good while I dont think there is anything else they may be willing to do swaps
for it and may be worth an ask.

    Hello Mike,

I did approach the Malta Aviation Museum some time ago but they appeared to have a long term plan for their Martinet section. In the meantime I have partially restored a suitable alternative, however always looking for Miles Master / Martinet parts so any leads would also be most welcome. Also looking for a Mk1 Fuel Trap if anyone has one kicking around.

    Kind regards,

    Tim

This is just so wrong I just hope the FAAM come to their senses. This project was an absolute highlight and, in my opinion, what aviation restoration is all about. Please pass on my best to the whole team for their great effort.
