Hi Consul,
Mark,
CAA records have it as G-CDTM not DCTM.
Don’t blame Mark for this, the french correspondent was certainly not well awake when he advised him… I’ll tell him to recheck next time  :p
Thanks for the notice.
Ben
Terrible news 🙁 My condolences to the family and the OFMC team.
Paul,

James,
Is the Dep racer an ex-Jean Salis machine? The French reg on the tail looks familiar and isn’t contemporary for its period.
You’re correct! It’s the former Jean Salis DEPERDUSSIN GB 1913 P. She was registered as F-AZAR in September 1980.

Hello Mike,
Do you know if Mr Potter has any plans to put the P-51 into an RCAF scheme in the future? It would make a nice change.
Yes, it seems Mr Potter’s P-51D will be repainted in 442 Sqn colors according the following article: Ottawa entrepreneur doing his part to preserve RCAF heritage

Soviet Ju 52
Ken,
The Ju 52 was recovered in 2003. From memory, it served with the Luftwaffe during WWII, was captured and later saw service with the Soviet Air Force post-war. Its WkNr is not known AFAIK. It’s currently in storage in Novosibirsk – from what I read in CW, it will be rebuild to fly using ASh-62IR engines. You can view some photos here and here.

MJ-10 SPITFIRE HB-YIZ
OD,
It’s a 3/4 scale Spitfire replica – registration HB-YIZ.
As per the AFP: “A 39 year-old pilot was killed on Saturday when his replica World War II fighter aircraft crashed during an air display in northern Switzerland, Swiss police said.”
You can view a photo of the Spitfire here
