Hi Dave,
this is just supposition but i would think it to be an ex RAF lanc that has been force landed in or around russian terratory that they (the russians) have repaired and used. i belive the RAF flew out to russia and bombed targets in northern Germany that would normaly be out of range on the way there – re-fueled and re-armed and bombed another target on the way back. could be wrong about this though.
Greg
back to the oiginal post, could it have been NX611?
also i know this is highly unlikely but has anyone got any pics of the soviet black lanc? i feel a model kit conversion coming on.
Greg
we could offer our assisstance maybe art time and restore her outside any ideas would help her?
stewart.
great idea but here are some problems with this, firstly distance for some of us, personaly i am about 170 miles away from duxford. also timing, finding a day say each month when most of us will be available to participate.
not trying to be a “party pooper” here, just some thoughts i had when i read your post mate.
i agree that this airframe looks in a deplorable state, and a good clean up will do wonders for its apperance. but stopping the rot must be priority, remember what happened to Cosfords Vulcan B1? last of its kind and reduced to a nose section because [quote] it will cost about £1million to put right and even if that sort of money became available it would be spent on other projects [unquote] (can’t remember the source btw but i belive it was in Flypast)
Greg
what ever you do, DON’T take steroids, they’ll wreck your health and personality,( i have seen this happen) try using drinks that increase your body/muscle fats and work out as you are doing,
good luck.
Greg
you’ve been watching jackass mate? just the sort of think they’d try.
i agree with Steve, a future darwin award candidate if ever i heard one.
best regads

Greg
i have the British Dakotas book upstairs someplace, i could dig it out and give a brief history of this aircraft if any use.
Greg
odd that there are not many woman on that list, some that i think should have been there are Hattie Hayridge, Hellen Leaderer (sp?) Jennifer Saunders and Pamela Anderson.
plus there are the likes of Ben Elton, Max Boyce, Craig Charles, D1ck Emery and Dave Allan. all good comedians, and i,m,h,o better than some listed there.
incidentaly, anyone know that D1ck Emery was the president of the Airfix modelers club?.
Greg
