Came across this review of the film, does anyone know what aircraft is in the photo at the bottom of the page? Looks like the same one used in ‘Wind in the Willows’ or ‘Mr Toads Wild Ride’ as its known in the US.

I think if memory serves me wright that was known as a Vickers 22

    Wheels: Pointing down
    Wings: Divisible by two
    Tail: facing back
    engine: Attached and facing front
Chocs: Stowed ready for when you get hungry

Saunter around the aeroplane at least twice to suggest you are not frightened.

Wiggle some things. Those things that look like they probably should move might and those things that look like they shouldn’t better not.

    Fuel: still expensive isn’t it?

    Ignition on, choke out. Start.

In order to fly, try to avoid the ground.

In order to land, try and avoid the sky.

    Hope that helps,

    MH

Thats far to complicated for a Taylor mono!!

Well there is two storch in the UK cool 🙂 I only thought historic aircraft collection had the only one in the UK thats great news to me then bring more german planes in the UK.

Here is information on HAC Storch: http://www.historicaircraftcollection.ltd.uk/storch/

    Regards
    James

John Ashby’s wonderfull storch is however not an original, its a kit built a/c powered by a Rotax 912 and is alot smaller than the original! it is loverly though.

Sadly G-AIVW was crashed some years ago, she was cartwheeled across a lake with much damage. I belive the remains are still about but as to the current position i dont know, maybe someone on here will know her currnt state.

Several years ago we constucted a third scale Gipsy Major engine, we did it by litteraly scaling down an engine we had in bits. The only compramise was the use of a different carburator. When it ran it sounded just like a Gipsy and it had lots of power, nearly pulled the bench over that we had it bolted to when we opened her up!!!
A german brought it with the intention of putting it into production, i belive it is just about ready to go on the market.
I will try and dig out some pics!

BM – I never made the connection when GASML mentioned “Charles Boddington” – terribly sorry if this thread has caused you any upset.

    Hatton – enjoy! 😉

unfortunately it happens and people are not to know, have just brought a copy of it on Amazon, didnt realise it was still available so at least i have it for the family vault!
Get it and watch it for what it is, a piece of entertainment with some great flying sequences in it with some loverly replica aircraft.
