I think you mean Stig???;)
Nice pics by the way.
It will certainly be a right off as far as the insurance Co is concerned.
The answer is that anything is repairable if you throw enough money at it!
I do hope DGT get rebuilt, its an old friend and has alot of history.
Hi Andy, realised that this morning when i heard it was G-ADGT:(
Thanks for the Triplane pic by the way:)
SKP was due to come after CDC, plans changed and nothing happened so as far as i know its still in bits in the hangar at Headcorn:(
OO that looks nasty! glad occupants are ok. Trouble with these old girls is that the bits are getting harder to come by and more and more expensive!!
All the time that they are on a CofA it get harder and harder to rebuild them.
Had my heart in my mouth when i saw the thread title, i rebuild CDC a couple of years back and worried she had come to grief!!!
Im supprised this isnt in the historic section!!
Not confirmed i must say but i have a report that its a Stampe. 🙁
Skybolt…………
My point is that there are safer places to watch an airshow from outside an airfield. Not so an unreasonable point of view I would submit.
Planemike
Planemike
i am 100% with Slybolt on this one.
How do you know what places outside an Airshow are safe????
Durring the display briefing area’s to be used in the event of an emergency are gone through and briefed to all pilots involved. So when your standing in the field that has been briefed as a emergency landing field you compramise not only your safety but that of Others!!
As you you seeming to think that the charges to get into Airshows are “Heavy” then i suggest you try organising one yourself an see just how much they cost to put on!!
As an organiser of an Airshow that is put on to raise money for a local charity i get incensed by seeing a whole load of people watching from outside and not wanting to pay the gate price while still happy to enjoy the show. If every one does this then guess what, no more Airshows for you to free load on!!
Pay to get in or stay away, simple.
One from last years Legends.
Great shot, any chance of a copy??? I was flying the red Fokker:)
Did you get any others?
The Pup was a new build, finished a few years ago after the chap who was building it died, sorry carnt rememer the Name:confused: Its based down in Devon. A few from me:)
Andy, our one at daventry charged me £95 last year if thats of interest. 🙂
Rollasons/The Tiger Club had G-APOV which was unique amongst Jackeroos in that it had a constant taper fuselage rather than the usual tadpole shape fuselage. I beleive this aircraft crashed near Ashford in Kent in the mid 1960’s. I’ve got some pictures of ‘OV somewhere, I’ll see if I can find them.
Chris
G-ANZT has a constant tapper fuselage also, these were built by Rollason and i belive that there were three in total, G-APOV was the first.
My father owned. from memory G-AOIX, G-AOEX, G-ANFY and G-ANZT in the late 60’s.
OIX is now tiger moth G-BPAJ.
very good news. hoping for the gladiator as well
From what i heard lasy weekend i wouldnt hold your breath on that one:(
Niel should be a good source, if not DH Support at Duxford should be able to help. Be aware, there is more than 1 rib, they are not all the same;)
Apparently Charles used to fly the Linnells Messenger, although not in 1936:rolleyes: I would imagine it would have been a DH60 ??
I agree this should be recorded in the Sywell Aviation Museum, i will see Ben Brown tommorow night and mention it. Facinating stuff:)
