I wondered when someone was going to say that. I dare say this film wasn’t funded solely by enthusiasts. The Escadrille Lafayette deserves a film, but so do a lot of other subjects that don’t get a look in because the studios don’t think they will amuse 8 year olds in Idaho. (Or in Britain, everything that sconnor said).

Running along a Zeppelin? You can’t be serious.. Despite my harsh words I was actually quite looking forward to this until I heard that.

Unfortunately its the case im affraid, most of the backing come from US money. And its not just the 8 year olds in Idaho, these films are aimed at the general public and have to fill a balance sheet. I hope this film does well with the viewing public and i for one am just pleased that someone has made a film about WW1 for a change, heres hoping it may spur on a few more 🙂

Question is where could we find a replica BE-2 for the filming? 😉

Em, now let me think? 😀

    Sorry, one of those days.

[mutter]Why can’t we make a film about Mick Mannock, Billy Bishop, James McCudden anyway?[mutter]

You find the funding and we will go make a a WW1 film about Mannock, Ball, Bishop, McCudden and anyone else you would like to include 😉

My last one inc ECG was £125, seems to vary a fair bit depending where you are? Gone are the good old days of Doc Robertson in Northampton, cost you £25 for a good old chat “have you been flying anything interesting lately?” A tunning fork in the rear and a tap on the knee with a rubber hammer!!! Think he went on the theory that if you managed to drive there you must be fine 😀

Glad to hear all are Ok, a departing canopy off a P51 is no laughing matter, apart from the possible damage to the airframe which could have dire cosequences. The canopy as it leaves can have a nasty habit of taking peoples heads off 😮 I flew with the late Paul Morgan manty times in SUSY and he always use to say ” If i have to loose the canopy for F**K sake duck!!
Hopefully Know one on the ground came to any harm.
