A nice and large photo, here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/59/P-61_testing_Ramjet_engine_bw.jpg
Will it blend?

I wonder how often GAvA president Michael Turner sees clones of his work pop up…

Hmmm…
The German version of this was even more extreme – it was supposed to land vertically and had a rocket engine in the nose:
Hmmm I much prefer planes going up!
Here a RATO take-off of an Ercoupe:
F-18 pic working now 🙂
Here yet another F-18 dropping its load and an A-4 losing its wing as a result!
I think you lost the picture? (I don’t see any)
An A5M missing a wing…

That first video is a major anti-climax! I was just turning up the sound. The second video however more than makes up for that! Wow, what a performance!!! Incredible flying!
I was expecting some super cheesy stuff when I read the title, but I admit I quite like them. My favourite of the series is the colour shot of “P-47 with mechanic”.
Very nice photos!
Did anyone read what was on the sign the Red Bull’s Corsair pilot was so thankful for? In a glimpse I read “sexy beast” but not sure if it actually said that!! 😀
This is what really caught my eye on the participation list. Something I’ve never seen flying at Duxford as I’ve only been going since 2007.
I’ve been going since 1997 (though I did miss a number of shows) and I think the last time I saw an Avenger perform was in 1992 and/or 1995 in the Netherlands. For me it was the highlight of the show! A wonderfully spirited performance. Every time it made a steep turn and dove back to the airfield I got a glimpse of what Japanese soldiers must have experienced on the receiving end of a strafing run…!
Nice shots, though I noticed a bit too much high-pass filter effects making them look a tad HDRI-ish.
That shot of the climbing Buchons with prop twirlies is very interesting! You often see it near the ground on take off, but I’ve rarely seen it so clear in the air. Very cool!
A twin with an even shorter nose!

Just spotted this post! Very, very cool! Worthy of a “bump” me thinks!
Another WW2 night fighter with stuff on its nose (and some shameless self promotion), in 3D:

(For she sharp-eyed… yes I accidentally mirrored the starboard engine – it will be fixed! 😀 )
