Thanks Scooter!
QldSpitty, your project looks mighty impressive! Many hours of hard work for sure!
Been awhile since I updated this post! Some progress in the meantime…
Firstly an animation showing all the cooling flaps in place and working…
Then the wings… It was very tricky to get the seam to have the right shape as the real thing (drawings are always a let-down). In fact the only way to get the seam correct was to get the folding animation right, as it almost perfectly follows the airfoil shape once folded.
NB. For those with sharp eyes… outer flaps are currently not installed (working on that at the moment…) and inner flaps haven’t been cut out yet.
Here’s a higher resolution image:

Merry Christmas everyone!
Love watching those big birds do low flybys – or fly formation. Otherwise they’re little more than flying buses…
Once saw a Sabena BAe 146 do a very low, banked flyby. Awesome.

Great sound!
Fabulous pictures, Milton!
Here’s a 707 (not 747 obviously) doing a seriously nice fly by:

I just noticed this was posted a few posts before and a few posts before that as well… O well… a backup link if the others don’t work! 😀
And yes it’s a KC-135.

It’s a nice looking restoration but a bit of a pity that history wasn’t done justice… Tail, camo, spinner, bumps/cowling, canopy… I guess it’s all got to do with available funds but why were the fuselage and wings seperated? Such a shame
Thanks for showing though. It’s good to have another restored 109 in Europe.
Thanks! Be sure to listen to the comments of Bill Lyons while watching it, it really helps picturing the whole event 🙂
BlueNoser352, thanks! You’ll be pleased to know that my next Mustang subject will be Maj. Preddy’s final Cripes A’Mighty! 🙂
But first I gotto do some Corsairs…
Thanks very much for taking the time to reply, guys. Very much appreciated.
Matty, the background is a combination of photos and Photoshop drawing (see the making-of animation). The photos I’ve made myself. Everytime I go on holiday I take my camera with me in the plane and take hundreds of pictures 🙂
CRIKEY! 😮
Congratulations on a fantastic (and massive!) purchase, Peter!!!
These planes were based only a few miles from my home, but I never ever saw them. Many thanks Peter, for bringing them to the public. I can’t wait to see them! 🙂
Reno… kewl 🙂
Anna did you see the other one?

That’s brill! Well scary!
Speaking of scary… here’s a surfer who must have wetted his wetsuit! 😮

Bellylanding in an Aardvark must be relatively easy 🙂 So flat! Great pics.

Good stuff!
Hehe that link’s been posted three times now 😉
Still great though! 😀
When the lens gets heavier it gets kinda easier, due to weight and inertia 🙂
Also many of the more professional lenses have image stabilising… but this doesn’t always help.
I guess it’s safe to say you enjoyed it? 😀
