There are some great Free Security Suite you should checkout before you decide to fork out your hard earned money.

For firewall protection, I use Sygate. It’s a fantastic freeware Firewall that is quite robust and does a great job of protecting your outbound traffic. It’s no longer available on mainstream sites, but if you google around hard enough, you should be able to find it.

For Anti Virus protection, the best freeware is Avira Antivir. Antivir provides you will both a scanner and real time anti-virus guard that protects you when you are surfing the internet.

The best free Anti-trojan is Ewido. If you do things like download mp3s using Limewire or Kazaa. You’ll probably want the paid version for extra protection.

For anti-spyware/adware/scumware. Try a combination spybot and ad-aware. And if you’re using Windows XP try windows defender beta 2. All three are free.

And for protection against Rootkits. Try F-Secure Blacklight.

This may seem a lot of downloading, but your operating system will thank you for it.

    Quotes From Conan The Barbarian:

Mongol General: We have won again. That is good! But what is best in life?

Mongol Warrior: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcon on your wrist, wind in your hair!

Mongol General: Wrong! Conan, what is best in life?

Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of the women!

Added later: Psst! The IN didn’t have SHARs in 1971, neither did anyone else. Oh, and Seahawks and Alizes were CATOBAR.

Yes, I understand professor. I’m talking experience taking off an actual carrier with an actual jet fighter instead of helos.

Years? How many carriers, post WWII fought for “years”?

INS Vikrant was a major participant in the 1971 Indo Pak war. Seahawks and Alizes destroyed < 100,776 tons (recorded) of shipping. Now, compare that to….squat, again!

Thailand’s carrier is a minimal design at 11,486 ton (full load). But still, the requirements for operating even that, would call for some extremely good commanders.

So you call sending harriers on a floating dock “combat” experience? There’s a huge difference between take off and landing with harriers then there are with Mig-29s. I don’t even understand how using harriers gets you an “elite command” designation.

    The short answer is yes.

While Kuznetsov is better on paper, the one with the better commanders will win. You’ve got to be a super elite officer to command a carrier group – just imagine the pressure. In that regard, 45 years of operating carriers vs zilch, is going to make some difference.

And how many of those 45 years were in actual combat use? Too simplistic of an answer. Thailand has an aircraft carrier, and use it for the same purpose India does.

For all who did not know. Over the weekend, the Vice-President of the United States went hunting for Qualye…oh I’m sorry that Quail and got himself a lawyer by accident. The best part was all the spinning done by the ranch owner on how things like this happens all the time.

Anyway, I thought you guys would enjoy this picture.

This is certainly is an interesting topic. I guess what side you are on has to do with how you view the world.

Kursed, I think you do bring up a good point about the sacredness of the Holocaust. I don’t agree that depiction of Muhammad with a bomb as a turban, and Nazi war crimes are equal. But from a cultural sensitivity issue, I would agree that it is more acceptable in the western world to depict negative views of Muslims then Jews. The Jews have lived with Europeans for a long time, so maybe European Christians are just more familiar with Jews then Muslims.

At any rate this is getting of topic. As far as the cartoon goes, I have always believed that just because something is legal, doesn’t always means you have to do it. It’s legal for me to hit the bars and pubs to drink, yet I don’t do that at all. So I think a little exercise in restaint is in order for some of these opinionated newspaper. But that doesn’t mean it should not be alowed to criticise.

From a non-Muslim, Christian, Jew perspective. I personally do think that Muslims in general are the quickest to jump into “Jihad” (Religious Wars). It almost seems Muslim revel in war for their religion. They are ready to shed blood (either their’s or others) over anything that seems offensive to their faith. I think the world does need to understand the Muslims better, but I also think the Muslim need to see why so many people around the world view Muslims the way I do.

I think dialog is the way to savage this cartoon fiasco and not calls for Jihad.

In the video you certainly hear the gunfire going off, but you don’t hear any warning given to the approaching vehicles. You do hear the radio operator at the end, but no warning. So that leads me to conclude that these actions were not sanctioned by anyone.

Were these hooligans intent on murder? Of course not, if they were, they would have turned their guns into the on-coming traffic. This Lt. Col. Spicer (the guy in charge of Aegis) has a history of complaints against him stemming from his dealings in Northern Ireland.

Anyway, here is a claim from a blogger (take it as you will) claiming the shooter in the video is Danny Heydenreycher, a former British Soldier from South Africa.
