F-106 Weapons Bay
Towards the end of its career, some F-106’s were modified to have a fixed 20mm vulcan cannon mounted at the front of the missile bay.
These aircraft could still cary 4 air-to-air missiles, but couldn’t carry the Genie nuclear air-to-air missile. Modified aircraft could be identified by a shallow fairing centrally mounted at the front of the missile bay.

Is it possibly from a helicopter, maybe a military type?
Civil Aviation seats don’t normally have shoulder and crotch straps fitted, and it is definitely not from a Nimrod. (I should know as I spent over 7 years working on Nimrods, and flew in them often).

Are you sure that it is an exhaust part?
With its shape, could it be some kind of aerial, or vent for cooling purposes?
It doesn’t look like any exhaust system I’ve seen.

Cheshire’s Mustang
There is an Air-to-Air photograph, and a coloured drawing, in OSPREY PUBLICATIONS AVIATION ELITE series book on 617 Squadron.
It shows a Mustang III fitted with a “Malcom” canopy, D-Day stripes, but no individual code letters.
Hope this is of some help.

Detailing Parts for Revell Spitfire
Hi Merlin
Not sure if his will be of any help.
HANNANTS stock a large variety of Spitfire detailing parts in 1/32 scale. Check out their website.
There doesn’t appear to be any specifically designed to fit he Revell Kit.
However, I think it would be possible to adapt any parts meant for Mk.V Spitfires to fit your model.
It all depends on how accurate you want the finished model to look, and what your wallet can afford
They are and never were great. The are (same as top footballers) a bunch of ELITISt time wasters.
You really are a sad bunch if you think otherwise.
I don’t care what you think. I’m entitled to my opinion.
I personally am sick to death of hearing and reading how great they are.
How come they have survived all the defence cutbacks, when much better and more useful aircraft and aircrew have lost their jobs?
As anybody unlucky enough to be on the same airfield as they were based will remember, (not at airshows), they behaved like elitist pushy prima donnas, expecting to get everything they wanted immediately, if not sooner.
Where I feel sorry for the tragic loss, it is surely time they were disbanded, and the money saved put to better use.
Ifeel sorry for anyone who doesn’t like this comment, they need their heads examining.
PR Mk XIX intake
I’m sure this will be answered in a matter of seconds by one of the Spitfire gurus but on some PR Mk XIX there is an air intake just below the exhausts on the port side, however I cannot find anything to indicate if this is present or absent on the reverse side.
I believe this intake was only on the one side. I think it was the intake for the cockpit pressurisation system.
