agree with mark2, the pilot can only tell you what happened after he got hit. cos if there had been indications that he had been spotted beforehand (AAA, SAMs, RWR signals etc) then the pilot would need to be seriously stupid to still get shot down if your ‘cos they knew the flightpath he was going to take’ theory is to hold water.

not really, western ac will always have a market as long as it have a technological edge.

the profit margine of radars might be high, but when does the west sell planes without radars? it’ll be the profit from the radar pus the profit from the airframe, parts, weapons, training etc.

… F-22 is to be frontline strike platform for all sorts of missions and its stealthiness can be used against those who have good capability based on mission requirements which depends on country being attacked…

actually, the F-22 is to be primarily a fighter (the strike verson is the F/B-22, which is still on the drawing boards). strike is for the F35 for now.

But they have seen the plane more then once. There was long time ago an article that two nations outsidce China had seen it.

well, you need to have seen it if you are watch the flying display. 😉 all the PAF got so far are the standard toure, maybe a closer look at the plane and some paper specs, and if they are lucky, a flying display from one of the J10s. however, you would want to fly the thing yourself to see what its capable off before commiting to multi-million order.

…Flying it is a bit unlogical. They just flew the fc1 (allso a single seater….). I agree. But it is not unfamiliar plane.

the FC-1 was still in the development stage, with the flight envilope is being gradually pushed out. also, i doubt that the PAF pilots did anything other then just some basic loops and turns on their first flights to get the feel of the plane.

as with any test fight process, new pliots will need to gradually get to know the limites of a plane through time and trial and error. it will be a while yet before the PAF pilots start to help push the flight envilope out.

the J10 is fully certified. however, new pilots will still need to go through the same familarisation process to get to know the plane before they can start flying it to the limits, this may take months if not years. the few operational J10s and cleared pilots the PLAAF currently have must be extremely busy training the first batches of instructor pilots to fly the J10Bs, so there is niether the manpower or the equipment available to train PAF pilots for just a test run.

with the J10Bs becoming operational, all that is needed is for an experienced J10 pilot to take a PAF pilot up in the beakseat and put the plane through its paces. the PAF will know what the J10 is capable of in one or two flights instead of dozens or hundreds.
