the US military uses every means possible to grab funding, and that includes creating phantom ‘threats’; the american ppl, with all the talk about how ‘agressive’ and ‘threaterning’ this ‘threat’ ‘is’ gets over-excited; polititions try to take advantage of that by continuing to drum up that ‘threat’, and talking though abt how they will ‘deal’ with it if they get into office…

the nation recieiving all this finger pointing and name calling gets a little nervous abt the threaterning attitude of the american ppl and polititions and decides to increase military expenditure just in case…

america seems to have a god given talent of making enemies of almost total strangers.:rolleyes:

if u knew much about china, then would would have realised that the beijing gov has put up with more crap from more ppl then any ‘democracy’.

if the chinese political system were to be thrown open, the extremist would be the first in power with the promise of returning china to its formal glory and reclaiming all her lost territory.:rolleyes:

dont belive me? go into any chinese chap room and post a poll asking if they think teh chinese gov is being too soft on issues like japan, taiwan, vietnam, even india and see what happens.:rolleyes:

er, no! having the F22 presents the rest of the world with a problem they cant afford to avaid, so they will increase their defence spending to try to re-address that imbalance, and that would mean that the F22 would be facing more ‘opponents’, not less. (do u honestly think the russians and chinese would be spending so much on their F22 rivals if the US didnt feild the F22?)

by status quo, i meant maintaing the current force balance that US has with everyone else, not as saying the US dont buy any more weapons for the next malenia.:rolleyes:

sure by not only maintaining the status quo but also futher tipping the balance in america’s favour, it will help to make sure no-one gets any ‘ideas’ about america, but what makes u so sure america will not start to get any ‘ideas’ about ‘them’ instead?:rolleyes:

actaully, for once its not all tony’s fault. (yes its shocking, but its true). the UK transport system have been underinvested for 50 years now, no government can hope to correct half a century of nieglect overnight.

that said, tony is doing frustratingly little to try to correct the problem.
