well u can customise ur ‘previous weapon’ and ‘next weapon’ keys. personally i use the middle button on my mouse for both, and with a little practice, u can quickly change between all ur weapons while still having ur left hand (if ur right handed that is) on the keyboard to move around freely.

dont the PLA already have the FT2000 in the later stages of development if not already deployed? slightly modifying it to be air launched would not be that big a challenge, so wouldnt that make more sence then to pay for someone else to develop a similar missile?

but as srbin sort of proves, beauty is in the eys of the beholder. since flankers dont tickle ur fance, how abt these babies?;)

but the thing is, the SHARs are being retired NOW, whereas these new carriers and their JSF’s wont arive for around another 5 years at the quickest.

guess the RN will have to call time out if anyone with a half decent AF chooses to have a go at it in the meantime.:rolleyes:

with multi-role and BVR becoming the new buzz words, larger fighters seem to be more attractive to rich buyers as they clearly have a natural advantage over middle-weights in such fields.

for those on limited budgets, light-weights seem to be more perferible to middle-weights as they can be alot cheaper. however, for those opting more the later block F16s over the likes of the typhoon and rafale, the decision was probably syaued by a mixture of political pressure and the fact that the F16 is a much more mature platform that has proven its worth, whereas the new middle-weight 4th gens are seen as more of a gamble.

the above two catagories pretty much covers most of the world’s AF’s in terms of buying power, so there is just little room left in the market.

personally, i blame the price tag. the middle-weights are priced way above the vast majority of light-weights, and even higher then some of the better heavy-weights, so effectively they priced themselves out of the market as well.
