“A terrorist is a terrorist, regardless of race, nationality, or color.”

    totally agree with that.

however, who decides who is and isnt a terrirost to being with?

“Why even bother with a trial?”

cool, mob justice. how we have progressed.

    “Why were they even captured?”

ah, very good question indeed (in many cases). 😀

    “60 F22 (4 sqds) with Meteor-mod (internal bay)
    5 A330 tankers
    5 M2CA with MESA radar
100 Rafale-2seater loaded to the gunwales with mjoelnir, taurus, scalp, PGMs for strike
    10 global hawk for recce
2 KH12 sats for strategic recon
    20 SU30MKI with brahmos for anti-ship strike.

I’d feel very confident of giving everyone a bloody nose then.”

yeah, only by spending 3 times what ur allowed to. ($10bn)

id go for a squarden of F35s for air superiority, precision strike and anti-shipping.

for training, i’d choose 10 K8s for basic and intermed training, and 5 hawks for advanced taining.

    for ground attack, i’d go for 10 ex-USAF A10s.

for transport, a dozen used hurks.

helo wing would be 20 new Z-9s mainly for transport. (all the attack helo roles are taken over by teh A10s).

SAMs would be 10 S300 bateries for the major cities, and 200 stingers for low level tragets.

anything left goes towards J/F7pgs to boost the numbers.

probably going over the limite, but if none of the other AF’s in the area are that good, then instead of F35s, i’d go for two suaderns of Mig29SMTs or 3/4 squadrens of FC-1s and forget abt the J7s.

i thik it is taiwan that has a massive airbase inside a mountain, not NK. but frankly, i cant see the point. planes have to leave the base to fight, but once they do, the base’s cover is blown, and its enterence will suffer the same fate shortly afterwards.

today with PGMs and crusie missiles that can go throw windows, a massive cave enterence wouldnt be hard to hit. with bunker busting warheads, a couple of these would be able to blast through the toughest doors, once the doors are gone, everything inside is free game.

even if u dont want to or cant get the doors open, u can just crater the runway or blow rocks down from above the enterence and trap everything insdie for a fairly long time. hell, u can even have a few curise missiles deliver cluster munitions with ‘special’ triggers and mine teh area to futher complicate the dig out.

u can also keep a satilite on the enterence, and when it looks like they’re abt to dig out, just do the whole thing again. with luck, u might be able to capture the whole enemy AF intact.

    take a chill pill man.

according to u, if all who willingly associate themselves with bin ladden and Al-Q should be vaporised, then bush sr and co should be the first on the list. they effectively made bin ladden and Al-Q what they are in the first place.

as for the ppl being held in cuba. well it might not have occured to u, but afganistan is a country with ppl living in it. its not some terrirost-r-us, suicide bomber producing tellportation pad for the sum of the univers to beam down on. ppl are born there, and unlike u or i, they cant jusy book a plane ticket out of there to live in a better place (many do and are sent back for their troubles if caught).

also do remeber that for 30 years, the taliban and Al-Q were the ruling power there. for many afgans, jioning the taliban and/or Al-Q might have been as natural as u or me jioning the poilice or armed forces of our repective nations. after all, what was the alternative? join the northeen alliance? which was considered a ‘terrirost’ organisation by the ruling power?

as for the foreign ‘fighters’, as flood has already pointed out, there is no evidence that they did any fighting. and it is difficult ot tell what their intenstion were when the jioned, as Al-Q was also a religious organisation nd bin ladden somewhat of a cult figure.

also, i dont really see where all this, ‘ they stabbed us in the back now they want us to bail them out’ stuff came from. last time i checked, it was the parents of the SUSPECTS (they havent been convicted for squat so far, i guess the innocent until proven guilty stuff we pride ourselves so much abt having is only to the ‘select few’ ) that are doing all the potioning, not the ppl being held. and the parents sure as hell did do no fighting. u want to stop them potitioning? then u might as well shut down orginisations like the red cross and christian aid, cos they also petion for non-UK/US nationals.

for one thing, the guy making the models should be sacked! just look at the shabby finishing! even i could do much better!!!

for another, there have been many J10 models on display for some time now. in fact, the first artist impressions were from a model of a plane that looked like the LAVI but slightly different. thats probably where all the J10=LAVI stuff came from.

i think that showing a couple of models is viewed differently from showing the real thing and acknowledging the existance of the project. cos with modles, u just cant be sure if that’s the real thing or just a conseptural design (just look at how differently the ‘J10 model’ was from the real thing).

thats probably also the reason why we are getting pics of model XXJs, and if u follow the trend, it may also prove that the model doesnt look exactly like the real thing.

we had abt a hundred of these type of discussions before. they usually ends up into a bashing match. the general theme of things goes as:

A:FC-1 is s**** rusty tin can.

B: LCA is crappy M2K rip off.

    C: FC-1 is crappy F16/Mig33 rip off.

    …………………………

    not much point really.

“True, stopping and re-starting is not a good idea as far as fuel is concerned.

I was thinking more along the lines of synchronizing the speeds so that the relative velocity between the two is zero. Docking should be possible then without ‘stopping’, right? Anyway, what is the defintion of ‘stopping’ in space? What is your frame of reference.

Or is my idea just BS? I am just thinking out aloud…so pardon my fantastic ideas. “

well it is a good idea to send supply pods along first at a slower speed and have ur main ship catch up with it and then have the supply pods speed up to match speed and dock. however, there is little advantage to doing so, as u would still need to send all the stuff into space. and since their is no friction of drag in space, the size of ur spaceship would not affect ur speed that much.

in fact, u may end up having to send up more tonnage with supply pods then if u just built a bigger ship (supply pods would need engines and fuel, so adding to wait). there is also the risk of miscalculation that might make it difficult if not impossible to recover the pods (if the guidence fails on a pod and it flys in a different direction then its lost). with lives on the line, i dont think that is a risk worth taking.

but ur idea might be adapted to serve as an emergency measure – sending supply pods into mars orbit first before u send the astrinots in, in case sth goes wrong.
