get ur history right. the joint european fighter programme was first set up in the late 80s as a fighter designed to beat the flankers in air combat. this programme was the forerunner of the tyhoon and rafale. (yes, the french also took part). later the french pulled out and decided to go wit htheir own fighter, which became the rafale, while the brits and the rest continued wit hthe typhoon.

the projects continued (to design fighters) until the end of the cold war, but after the communist threat disappeared, so did the need for the fighters. however, at that point, too mcuh had already gone into the project to cancel it, so the design was refined to become a multi-role fighter. however, there is no argument where the roots of the planes lie (fighters).

on the other hand, u have the russians (and chinese/indians) who already had lots of dedicated fighters, but badly needed/wanted percision strike ability. their answer was the su30km. the su30kms were just basicly su27UB trainers with a much refined ground attack ability. and in the mkk’s case, heavier load carrying ability, no doubt at the expence of TWR and manoverability (and thats added onto the UB airframe which was never as agile as the single seat flankers). even india’s mkis that were design as more of a multi-roler then just a fighter bomber will have difficulty matching the TWR and agility of the likes of the su35/37 if for nothing more then the fact that the mki has a second seat.

i would have thought that even without knowing the history of the typhoon and rafale it would still have been obviously that it was unfair to compair a single seater with a twin seater.

hell, its not even like i suggested a totally different plane as an alternative. the su35/37 and su27SMS are just basicly the single seat versons of the mki and mkk respectively. if u still dont like it, then why not compare the twin seat versons of the rafale with the MK?s and see what the outcome would be.

again, i feel that this is an unfair comparision. the Su30s were design primarily with ground attack as its main emphysis, whereas the Rafale is an air superemic fighter first, and a multi-role second.

a better comparison would be Rafale V Su35/37 (or su27SMS at least), in which case it would most likely come down to pilot ability as the performance of the planes would be very similar.

i have nothing against what u just said in ur last post, however, it is the way that u have discribed some indian projects such as the LCA that will cause contraversy, and most likely be taken as a flame by some, who will no doubt ‘retaliate’.

IIRC, thats how most chinese related topics start to go down hill. if this happens here, then u would have been one of the main causes, and that would put u in the same league as those that we accuse of intentionally ‘sabatoging’ chinese threads. and i am sure u are bigger then that.

i’ll blame it on imported american culture (actualy, just the unhealthy part of it cos yanks are generally quite sporty, or at least the ones i know). fast food and sitcoms – too many and all dont put sports in a high regurd. (friends, the simpsons, will & grace to name a few); and not enough public exercise facilities. ppl are forced to pay through the nose to go to the jim, and many of those that do sign up, espcailly the newbies, are discouraged by all the fit ppl there and never go back while still paying the subscription.
