Some nice ones HP81 and Darren!
Is that a Vertol behind the Icelandair DC8?
I know there was a Heathrow – Gatwick link by Caledonian in the past but didn’t know they had vertols.
Here is some later material

China Airlines (Taiwan) does to my knowledge not fly from Heathrow and certainly not direct to Beijing so Air China will be meant.
Mandarin is a 100% daughter of China airlines (bit like BA and BA Asia) so to make a difference between these two for safety reasons is not relevant in my opinion
Can’t comment on the service with Air China as I have never flown with them but I think from a safety record point of view there will not be a big difference with BA, LH or AF.

Nice pictures Danny.
Accoording to the exif these images were made with an EOS350. The first shot is made with only 180mm so you must be able to get pretty close at Glasgow or is this an “inside” job?

Excellent photo’s guys, thanks for joining us Peter, perhaps you have some more for us?
I love that Cubana IL76, it’s one of the gaping holes in my collection.
Iraqi is no problem, at Amsterdam though

Hey guys, I have 3 young daughters and when I ask them who has done the dirty, they normally all point to each other.
Must be human nature and I think we all do that at least some of the time.
For those who read the article all the way to the end, EADS as maker of the plane is also condemned and made at least partly responsible for compensation. Also a specific mechanic was condemned for the faulty repair job.

OK JB, glad that is sorted. Most magazines are nice enough to ask before they use a picture, and I could’t remember this one. When you mentioned Newcastle
I was even more surprised since with the KLM DC8 and DC9 in the background this is an Amsterdam picture.
The Interflug IL62 is also at my homeport Schiphol were they were sometimes seen.
Nice picture HP, I can see the guy under tail is working to influence the horizon.
The following pictures were taken at Rotterdam, scanned and processed some time ago with some heavyhanded noise reduction.
