LOL, the same guy at school who argued the Mig-28 was real also tried to argue the Mig-29 from Iron Eagle 2 was now more powerful than Mig-28, he saw it in action in Iron Eagle 2 and its now the best

We tell him its an F-4 Phantom, he refuses to listen, we tell him USSR wont lend their planes to american movie companies for movies, few days later he brings in a pic of an F-4 in a book he found in school library saying this is the Mig-29, see you are wrong hahahaha

He never bothered to read the caption, despite the fact that USAF was clearly visable on the plane, the caption read F-4D Phantom II USAF during vietnam war

Pointed that out, he got mega ****s and stormed off

    Never forget that ever

Ho! And by the way, those same classmates were sure that the Mig-23 actually looked like the IAI Kfir after having watched “Iron Eagle 1″…

    Ahh Top Gun

Never forget when i was in final year of high school having a discussion with friends on fighter planes, one mate starts saying the Mig-28 is the best plane in the world, he got his back up and refused to believe it wasn’t real, still adamant it was best plane in the world, even when we showed him an Air forces monthly article on the Aggressor program he still stuck to his guns

I remember in the movie at the end right before they went to combat, James Tolkien (admiral) saying the Mig-28 is equipped with the exocet attack missile, Soviet jet with french anti ship missiles lol

A UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Combat Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad, and a UH-1 Huey helicopter from the Iraqi Air Force’s 2nd Squadron out of Camp Taji, soar over Baghdad skies during a combined aviation mission, Jan. 15. During three combined personnel transport missions over the Iraqi capital, Jan. 15, the Huey, piloted by the 2nd Squadron’s training officer, Lt. Col. Shamkky Abbas, led the way as the two aircraft made stops at various coalition bases in the greater Baghdad area. The flight is part of an ongoing plan to further the development of the IAF’s rotary wing force at Camp Taji.

    Also the Israeli Lavi

Yes it was cancelled because america withdrew funding but Israel should have continued development of it, they would now most likely not have purchased the 102 F-16I which even thouh contain alot of israeli systems, still retain american radar because they were not allowed to replace it with an israeli radar, they would have a Lavi with the radar and systems they want it to have, less dependence on America, an aircraft that would be a competitor to the F-16 and Mig-29 and Jas-39 Gripen etc

Israel missed out on a good opportunity with the Lavi

The Northrop F-20 Tigershark, a follow on from the highly succesful F-5a/e lightweight affordable fighter, the F-20 would have sold to many current F-5 operators especially if there was the possibility of an upgrade program for F-5 to F-20 conversions, after a fatal crash of a protoype the program was cancelled

Tango III thanks for quoting my work from irandefence :), no longer am i admin of that forum, it was bought out by an iranian from LA who has now changed it from a great forum that encouraged all to an iranian only club, they also have become a bit racist as well, i worked on that thread for years and will eventually post as many pics as possible here being careful not to violate any copyright

dont know if it could be called a worst aircraft but the F-104 Starfighter has to be considered for the large amount of pilots it killed. It was nicknamed the Flying Coffin by the Luftwaffe because of the high crash rate, i dont know exactly how many but i believe about 70 plus crashed in West German Service
