Whats wrong with a ****?
Would you manage to swallow this soup? :p

Sorry, I just had to do it…
People, feel free to share your own pictures of your local aircrafts! 😀
I belive I read in the latest Airforce Monthly that they are still used as heavy transports for the Russian Airforce on bad runways not suitable for the Condor. Can anyone confirm this?
The Aircrat 976 Mainstay-C is not realy an AWACS. I belive its more like an aircraft spesialized to track missiles and a mobile ATC station. The Mainstay-C can be easily recognised since its retain the glazed nose and is painted in Aeroflot colours.
I belive the A-50U Mainstay-B have an improved aviation suit over the standard A-50 Mainstay-A, including an upgraded ‘Shmel’ radar called the ‘Shmel-M’. The easiest way to recognise the Mainstay-B from the -A, is to look at its lack of navigators window on the port side and the extra flare/chaff launchers on the rear fuselage.
Aircraft 976 Mainstay-C:
A-50U Mainstay-B (note the extra flare/chaff launchers on the rear starboard side):
A-50U Mainstay-B (note the lack of a navigators window):
A-50 Mainstay-A:
I hope this explained the basic differences.
Now, a question for you, Sir. Where is Berezovka located?
I like ‘Reaper’, altough it sounds kinda hostile. It’s in the same street as ‘Raptor’ in my oppinion.
EDIT:
Maybe a moderator can add a poll to this thread to see which one of the 6 finalists this forum likes the best?
I’ve heard around 15 is still more or less operational.
Here’s a list of known A-50s I’ve compiled.
Anyone can help me to fill in the blanks?
🙂
Heisann min kjære landsmann!
First of all I have to congratulate you on those gorgous pics. I never knew Norway had an L-29 Delfin flying. Who owns it?
As for the F-16 pics…truly amazing. Was ‘681’ the only flying Viper there? And is it possible to get them in higher res (so I can set them as wallpapers on my computers;))?
Best regards,
Bodøværing.
Well it has taken time, but Bush and Blair announced last night that all the Tech transfer and Sovereignty problems with the F-35 have been solved and that the project can now proceed.
http://www.defencetalk.com/news/publish/article_006163.php
I guess this now leaves only any technical risks to the project to be addressed and for the Brits to decide finally what they are going to buy. You will notice that they quote about $100m per aircraft in the text 😮
Then maybe they can finally start cutting metal next year for the new carriers…………….
That only leaves the other 7 nations which are part of the project…
Interesting…thank you! 🙂
I live close to Norways Main Air Station in Bodø.
The RNoAF got both F-16AM/BMs and Seaking Mk.42B stationed here. F-16s from 331 & 332 Sqd, and Seakings from 330 Sqd.
Often the P-3C/N Orions from 333 Sqd. drops by, same with the C-130H Hercules from 335 Sqd. The Bell 412SPs from 339 Sqd. and Lynx Mk.86 from 337 Sqd. (Coast Guard) visits occasionally.
During NATO and other exercises, I see all kinds of planes: Everything from AWACS and KC-135 to Gripens and Tornados.
Here is some pictures I have shot:

Definately the best choice for Dennmark, Norway and many other European nations, imho.
Looking at this Gripen-N, I agree. Now that they have finaly got more range and ability to carry NSM.
Problem is politics.
Norway have long strong ties with the US, so as it stands now, the JSF is the plane the politicians wants.
Yeah, thanks for the pics Djnik!
Is it just me, or do you look like this Norwegian TV celebraty? :p

Cool. Thank you very much.
Love the last picture…! 😀
In a separate incident, Apache attack helicopters were used for the first time since the UK assumed coalition control of the province.
Doesn’t that indicate that the Apache have been in action before, just not while UK forces took control of the province?
Anyone else that can help me identify the last picture?
