Never got to fly on one and am really gutted about that.
I managed five flights π 3 between GLA and EDI ( G-AOHG , G-AOYG and G-APKF) and one return between GLA-LPL both on G-ATDU ! π
Just returned from Paris and have to say that the show is the poorest ever , there were 4 of us there including a couple of guys who have been going for 20 years and they were hugely disappointed ,there are far too many mock-up aircraft exhibited nowadays IMO!
Word up here in Glasgow is that Onur wil not be “honouring ” their flts into GLA in Jul and Aug. These flts now being covered by AtlasJet and MNGpax !
I donβt get it why here in Scotland the media and Scottish Executive keep papping on about a 2nd runway at either GLA or EDI.
Last Tue I spent 15 mins at the 23 hold , 7th in line for take off during which time there were 4 landings and this was at 0915 hrs , hardly the busiest time of the day for Glasgow. There is little doubt that with the predicted growth in air travel that a 2nd runway will be needed in the years to come!
hear we go again
ding ding, round 2
What is wrong with you? It’s nothing to do with GLAvEDI , this is a topical news story where the owners of the two airports are telling the Govt that their initial decision looks like being a wrong one! Build a bridge and get over it! PLEASE!
I think they are free to expand their Scotland services as they see fit.
Agreed , which according to last weeks press release is likely to lead to a 2nd GLA service as that would be more cost-effective than starting a new operation from another airport ,although an upgrade to the 773 later this year is all we can expect in the near future!

What are talking about MYT moving long haul to GLA? MYT already do long haul from GLA and have done for years. They have 2 weekly long haul summer only flights from PIK with at least two daily long haul from GLA.
He is correct , MYT moving PIKs Las Vegas and SFB routes to GLA from next summer. Times , dates and Flight Nos are available already!

STN, what?! The winglets will be fitted at Southend and their HQ, which is/was at STN is about to or has just recently relocated to Edinburgh.
OK , but why are you confused. The point I was making was that the winglets are being done over here and not at Boeing. I apologise humbly for my err re STN! π

Oh, and NGs are buiilt with the winglets on them by Boeing, if the customer chooses the option. π
It doesn’t make sense to buy a new aircraft (or lease it) then pay upwards of Β£200K to fit winglets, when the winglets could have been installed as part of the manufacture.
Must make some sort of financial sense , Flyglobespan have bought 50 (yes fifty) pairs of winglets which will be fitted at the airlines STN base . Obviously they have major expansion plans!
