The sun is shining. The beaches are sandy. The water has a blue flag for cleanliness. You can buy proper wood-smoked kippers from really old smokehouses. You can buy wholesale frozen fish off the fish market (far better than the fresh fish at Tesco). You can come into Chadds (opposite Barclays) and see me. You can have candyfloss and ice cream, donuts and chips.

And even see a few noisy old hairdriers.

The last thing to go through his mind was the brake lever.

More boring. It’s really a pointless show. To think i’ll only pop my head window-wards once each day. Dreadful.

    GIVE ME WARBIRDS!

We had a bunch of planes about today, practicing. You’d have thought they’d already learnt how to do it. Would YOU sit on a beach to watch some aircraft who have to practice how to fly the day before? Pah.

Bloody fool Harrier pilot thought his tape was finished, so pressed the eject button.

Um, lets just, like, remove the Red Sparrows on both days shall we?

Thats going to ride well, what with no Harrier due to the pilot flooding the engine.

    “What, no Harrier?”

Nope. The pilot flooded the engine.

Me either. I’ll poke my head out for the BBMF and maybe the jaguar (missed the last ones to fly over my head!) but the firworks are usually superb.

Battle. I recently went and got all the annuals (missing 1976) off Ebay. Cracking read.

Bootneck Boy, the sarge, Joe Two Beens, Hellman, Darkies Mob etc.

Has ANYBODY got any ‘Joe Two Beans’ stories? I really need to read him – he’s missed out of every annual!
