It could have started as a Test Shell, I do recall seeing Jetstream 41 Noses @ the Prestwick Factory, After its life as a Test Shell was finished that is when it was converted to a Procedures Trainer.
Gosh, I once spent a summer helping put these things together.
HI111 Thanks for thr reposting of ny image of the cockpit of G-PLAH Jetstream 31 C/N 640.
The cockpit of this aircraft has now been removed from Millom to be converted into a Simulator.
I wonder where it is now???

Paul,
Many thanks for the Good News that G-UIST has been saved, any chance of you posting some images of her?? I was lucky enough to fly in 4 of the Highland Jetstreams and G-SEIL, but UIST eluded me and althouigh I managed to see her @ Inverness, she was in the distance, so I was nat able to get a good shot of her.
I look forward to seeing her, Please let me know is she is making a trip to central Scotland.
I have created a Photo tribute to Highland Airways on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/groups/hiway/

I am glad to see a bit of a CAAFU 748 lives on, at least I assume that’s where the fwd door came from.
Good luck with the move. I’d better post those rivets I promised you;)
One of the CAAFU HS748’s lives on in a Diving School somewhere in England, I dont have my copy of Wrecks & Wrelics to hand so cant tell you which one.
There is a shot of it underwater on Flikr
Hope this was of some use
I believe the replica standing outside Edinburgh Airport is the Turnhouse one, but I could be wrong. It’s painted as an aircraft of 603 Squadron.
I Can confirm that the Turnhouse Replica is now standing Guard at the entrance to the main terminal in Edinburgh marked as L1067 “Blue Peter”.
THe Spitfire @ Leuchars was an original one. LA189 is now in the Kelvingrove Museum & Art Gallery in GLASGOW.
I can post some images of LA189 once I find them
