Many thanks for the comments Guys,
What we are seeing is the aircraft at the end of the checks, and both were going through their Hydraulic checks, Flaps, slats ,and undercarriage, and everything that had been removed was either being refitted or already had been, in fact G-DOCL , was pushed out for engine Runs just after we left
G-EUUD was due to leave the hangar today 12th
Great photos! 😎 🙂 Nice to see something different once in a while. How easy is it to arrange such ‘guided tours’ at BAMG?
Cheers Adam,
I have inside knowledge ,who has direct contact with the powers that be ,they were more than happy to accommodate our group, outside that it is very hard to arrange a tour due to security , health and safety
Kevin
Great shots there Si,
Like the Excel 737
Kevin
Keep em coming Fabke
a great selection again, I’m glad the authorities are now a bit more relaxed about photography there, just hope that it last
Kevin
Super shots , it was your lucky day 😀 , too bad you had no sun 😮
Cheers Fabke,,
Up here in Scotland we are use to having overcast and grey days, so it not much of a problem shooting in these conditions any more
Cheers Grey,
Unfortuanately I’m going to be out of the country again ,well sort of ,so I will not be able to make that day, but I’m sure my mate said something about a German team coming over.
Kevin
Cheers Guys,for the comments
Lance, what date is the game? will have to see if I’ve earned enough brownie points by then, though there might be a very small chance i might pop down for the German Invasion if i’m not working
Rab , I left Glasgow at about 0330 in the morning and was at the AVP for 0700 stayed there till about 1930 that why i elected to stop over in Wilmslow for the night
I will post some more over the weekend after I ve finished work
Kevin
Cheers guys for the comments
If I’m wrong I’m sure the MAN boys will correct me, there were supposed to be about 10 foreign charters for the footy, but i counted only 6 that turned up , with Monarch doing 4 flight( we were told that by one of the Locals)
As for the compass , my excuse i was tired and the thing was pointing North (home ) when I looked :p :p
this was my first time on the SOUTH side and i took most pictures from the large bank that you reach following the path from Moss lane , but I noticed a whilst walking that there was another Place ,
Just as you clear the trees there was a worn track up the bank on the left as you headed to the main bank , whats that like ? and has any one any pictures from there that I can have a look at for future reference
David , I was there from about 0900-1130 , had to head home or i would have stayed a wee bit longre but I was wanting to beat the traffic around Glasgow

N2061L was due to leave PIK on the 4th at 0700, but did not depart until the 5th,It was just in so that the engineers could check the undercarriage
The rumor about the engine failure came form one of the ramp guys at PIK who had spoken to the Pilot after it had landed ,
Kevin
Some really great shots there
Looks like another airport to add to my list of potential visits for 07
Kevin
Hi All
It was due out today 04-04-07, but during the flight up, the crew shut down a engine, so it might be still there for a few days ,if I hear anything more will keep you posted
….heard somewhere that it would fly all the way to PIK with the landing gear down. I was going to ask was it down when you saw it LOL 😀
I can confirm that the landing gear was down when it landed:p
I did see it turning on to approach over Arran , but the heat haze was really bad so could not see if the undercarriage was down as it turned onto the ILS
Kevin
Hi Jamie,
Haven’t seen or heard anything about it coming back but that’s PIk for you you have to just Turn up and Hope 🙂
Kev

Hi Scott,

Kevin
Can confirm that it landed at PIk at 1300 today , straight to the Polar Air Hangar, whilst Taxing the Pilot did say that he would be speaking to the tower tomorrow so there could be some movement on Wednesday
Will post Pictures of her at Pik later
