Sorry that should read M L Bramson, spellchecker’s fault and couldn’t edit my post.

Yes that is what I find fascinating about her avion ancien, there is so little out there and M L Branson is a bit of an enigma too.

Thanks Oracal, I’ve already looked at that and it just states damaged beyond repair, 25/8/47, letter from owner. No further details of where though, but thank you for the thought.

Sorry to drag an old thread up but I came across an old photo of M L Bramson’s Spitfire G-AHZI in “Aeroplane”, dated 8/11/46. Marshall’s of Cambridge had just done the C of A on it. According to the gen it was called Josephine and was in a black and cream livery.

I have searched the web for further details regarding it’s demise and further information regarding the owner but it is all very sketchy. Does anyone have any fresh information or even a photo.

Absolutely brilliant, well done and so glad you like the way it flys. Stunning achievement.

Wonderful, hadn’t heard anything about this before. What a pleasant surprise.

The man is fantastic, he probably believes his own bullshit, and what did he do about that P38 at Harlech?, thought he was going to retrieve it but nothing came of it in the end.

Looking at the video it appears that he has pretty good brakes judging by the way the aeroplane turned  180 degrees and he was keeping a look out before he started. Anyway he has done a fantastic job of building it and I am sure he knows what he’s doing.

Totally agree avion ancien and not only the ones with the paper qualifications but the ones hiring as well. Experience in life and the real world should still count, but that is the sad state of things I am afraid.

Yes I feel that they have lost direction, with the likes of quizzes and top ten aircraft and such stuff.

Yes I can see it will appeal to a wider audience but at the same time it loses it’s way as a specialist type mag. The latest issue is a prime example of how bad it has got, I was very disappointed with it.

It would be a good thing for the new team to read some of the eighties through to nineties issues to get a feel of what made it a great magazine back then and try to emulate that, not turn it into a glossy type of offering that gets binned after reading because it is so shallow that nobody wants to keep it.

    Quality before quantity.
