They would…
However, these reports say a A-310

I have a memory that I was there the day that a number of ex-Belgium T-33s were delivered to Prestwick which sometime later disappeared and reappeared at Spadeadam.
Is this the one that used to sit in the scrapyard at Trowbridge? It’s had a respray since then as I remember it used to be in the original dark blue scheme.
Nice find though!
While people are talking about things like this, they’re not talking about the falling price of Ryanair shares or the recently-announced 169m euro loss for 2008-2009.
Smoke and mirrors, gentlemen. 😎
Did they actually announce any new aircraft orders during the Paris Air Show, fleet turnover being another major factor in their business model?

Yes, of course I have read a newspaper before, however, I have not read/seen an article that quotes someone as saying something has happened when it has not?!
It is, though I hate to say it, a fairly common technique in journalism where you want to set the scene for some hypothetical discussion
Yes, I remember this as well when part of the RAF Gliding and Soaring team taking part in the Nationals at Lasham mega moons ago. Possibly 1964 or around then. The site was on the opposite side of the road to the airfield proper and where the RAF crowd would set up camp in an assortment of tents and caravans, complete with a field kitchen. Wonder what happened to all that hardware! 🙂
Possibly ended up here in the post closure section (note second paragraph)

and this thread as well…

Possibly an AAC Islander/Defender (or even one of the RAF Islander CC2) in connection with the Shadow/Sentinel ops at Waddington
Air France are now saying that sounds are not the black boxes

This was the Staravia yard which has come up in discussions here in the past 😉
Precisely what I was thinking and why I raised this issue in my initial post…?
A question that rises from this is why is The Times reporting it in such a way and appearing to quote a statement made by Willie Walsh?
I hope you have a thick skin because I suspect that you may come in for a load of stick today for totally misreading the article…
My only comment would be about the piece at the bottom about the Kalamata crew which does not tell the full story.
