From Farnborough 1992 when it flew….

I’d love to see one of these preserved in the UK. An excellent Cold War exhibit for Cosford perhaps?
It should be possible, after all isn’t there a Tu-144 ‘Concordski’ preserved in Germany?
Been there, tried it.
At that time (2000/2001) they certainly knew the ‘value’ of aircraft and were not prepared to donate anything for free despite what they might say initially. I was even asked by people in Tupolev OKB what the value of a Tu-95 might be if they put it up for auction.
Flight Systems used to (and maybe still does) operate a number of F-86s as chase aircraft
A two day visit to Moscow to pick up the kids from their grandmother allowed me to go and see Orlyonok 26 white in Moscow on Saturday. It’s in a projected naval history museum on a lake near Tushino (metro Skhodnenskaya (Russian: Сходненская)). It has been reassembled and sits next to a hovercraft 634 black around the corner from the preserved submarine.
I have some photos which I will post once I have learnt how to hammer the photos from my (new) camera into shape.
The other warship mentioned has not arrived on the lake yet but can be seen on the Mockba river as you go into Moscow down the main road from Sheremetievo Airport.
I eat Russian food every day, courtesy of a local Russian food shop.
Thanks for the info thus confirming that I wasn’t seeing things…
That’s the one, thanks!
Is it not more likely that, if they passed into civilian use and won a contract for RAF work, they would appear back in military marks in a similar fashion to the two HHA Hunters ZZ191/192?
I don’t think it is appreciated just how many UAVs are being evaluated/in service/on order with the British military.
Look at
http://www.ukserials.com/results.php?serial=zz
for the Predator serials and then change zz for zj and zk for details of other serial batches containing UAVs.
Stranger things have happened.
I had input into a project proposal that went to the US parent company, the proposal then became subject to US export control restrictions and we weren’t allowed to see what we had written. I seem to remember similar things happening in the electricity supply industry back in the 80s when I worked there as well.
Maybe it’s just me…
Surely BAA doesn’t need any extra help in disrupting passenegers do they?:D
Certainly not at Gatwick if my experience a couple of weeks ago was anything to go by

I suppose it’s too late to get a D-notice put in place then. 😀

Ryanair, Myair and Eurowings have all applied for similar access to Bulgaria and new routes from these carriers are expected to be announced within the next six months.
