So Lion Air hoping to take a bite out of the competition & earn some Pride?
Also looking at ABZ to (in next 12mths):
NCL, LBA, MAN, NWI & “key european business centres”.
Per Mike Rutter, hopes to have the LGW route act as a “bridgehead” to further development at Dyce.
LGW will involve a nightstop at ABZ with the E95.
Seems strange that after looking to drop LBA to launch EXT-ABZ-INV-EXT, that they would look to relaunch flights…perhaps looking to operate more business-friendly schedule.
Also looks like the much-threatened attack on T3 at ABZ, given T3 also fly to NCL, LBA & NWI, & flybe have already announced a competing direct SOU route also.
Interesting to see what euro routes they would look at…yet more Stavanger maybe!!
Also all these routes may add up to a base IF their plans come to full fruition.
A shame Tom, looks like you will have to save up for T3 to ABZ in future!!
Should also report Flybe have confirmed interest in taking over LGWABZ, a route soon to be vacated by BA.
BUT FOR GAWD SAKE A 195 PLEASE NOT THE 146!!!!! :diablo:
First we had Citation as speedboat (remember Atlantic City?)
Now the sequel…Citation as lawnmower
Versatile things, these 525s…:D
Cocaine?
Did the Law interseptum? 😀
Reported as G-CBHL.
RIP to all, & we pray it wasn’t Colin.
And offering connections from Norway to ABZ to connect with IAH is also a shrewd move by City Star. As is creating City Star EXECUTIVE to operate the route.
An audacious move by X9 & an initiative that I hope succeeds for all concerned.
The talk for years has been for ABZ & IAH to be linked. Here we have an airline prepared to “walk the walk”. Lets see if the oil industry responds.
They (or City Star Holdings) also recently acquired the maintenance company Caledonian Airborne, who maintain Eastern among others at ABZ!
Plus rumoured to be more D328s on order to join the 4 existing aircraft.
Certainly thinking big!
Great pics Robert.
If you had been been up the day before you would have got a funnel cloud forming over Tyrebagger Hill to the W of the airport!
PT:
You’re getting your Murrays mixed-up.
Andy is out with wrist injury.
Was his brother Jamie that won mixed doubles with Ms Jankovic.
Not that you’re bothered I know!
And us sad Scottish gits are DELIGHTED! 😉
(Any pics of Jelena? :diablo: )

A VITAL piece of news if you work for JXT, or are waiting for one of their flights.
Although, yes, they are SLIGHTLY smaller than Big Airways…
Don’t EVER EVER delete this thread.
*Sigh* Nostaliga…:)
Look at some of these REAL aircraft, young whippersnappers…;)
Can’t tell, the engine’s in the way 😀 :dev2:
Yes as the lads say, it is an AN26.
Would describe it more as…rugged than beautiful myself.
Usually daystops most of the week at ABZ then runs down to EDI on the freight run.
Long way from the 727s we used to get…
