    >>>They are looking for M2K-5, not -9. F-16C/D is offered, not E/F. You mean Gripen will not be CONSIDERED to India until the Pakistani deal is totally thrown out.

Pakistani deal is not even running. Only Erieye is being evaluated. I doubt the Swedes to things extremely secretly. The possibility that both nation have no for Gripen is much higher then one side having a yes. But India gettign 125 Gripens with a lot of US parts? And the costs and totally new design? It is clearly Mig or Dassault.

80 percent of all Chinese wonder weapons will probably still be “in development” this time next year.

PAF vs. IAF threads will still be a waste of time to read.

A few years ago no programs. Now a lot of programs and you think they are just painting models? I remember the cold war where the US thought it had the best planes. Phantom lover, there are more nations capable of building decent planes. India and China are developing faster then you can imagine. Well, you might start adoring another plane cause the Phantom is antique.

PAF v IAF is less flamy now. But it showed the commitment of both groups. We will see more and more from both nations.

No idea. But it is well known that only hull is bought and rest will be western. Wether it can carry or not… We will see. To be honest. We are waiting for the contract so nothing is sure.

The aircraft crashed and killed all engineers. Looking at the size of the dish I say that it is indeed very big. No wonder that it was the cause of the accident.

    France offers UAVs to Pakistan

    By Muhammad Saleh Zaafir

ISLAMABAD: A French company recently offered its Sperwer UAV system to Pakistan. The Sperwer UAVs or spy-planes are being used in Afghanistan by the International Security Assistance Force. However, the deal is plagued by glitches. Sources told The News that primarily used by the Canadian armed forces in Afghanistan, the remote-controlled Canadian aircraft recently came in for a hard emergency landing, making it the fourth plane in four months to be knocked out of Canada’s troubled spy plane fleet. The Canadian forces Sperwer UAV made the emergency landing near Kabul about 15 minutes after taking off from Camp Julien. The sources said that since the first UAVs arrived in Afghanistan in Nov 2003, crashes have put four of the Sperwer UAVs out of action, while two others developed cracks in their wings. At one point the programme ran out of usable planes.

confirmation on Pak side. Seems to be 5-6 Z9 with French avionics and with the French anti ship missile (Excocet). We all know long time ago that there are 3 f22p in the planning. For jokers f22 is a chinese build vessel. not an airplane.

Pakistan, China discuss transfer of new weapons

    Press Trust of India

    Islamabad, December 31, 2004|17:20 IST

Pakistan and Chinese officials have held talks to discuss details of transfer of new weapons system to the Pakistan Navy.

Chief of Pakistan Naval Staff Admiral Shahid Karimullah and Chinese Ambassador Zhang Chunxiang discussed issues related to the transfer of F-22P frigates and Z-9 helicopters to Pakistan, local daily Dawn said.

Pakistan is looking forward to get Z-9 helicopters from China which would form an accessory to the F-22P frigates and enhance the weapons range of the frigate, officials said.

The Z-9 gunship is a French-designed Z-9 (Dauphin II) multi-purpose helicopter produced under license in China.

With a capacity of 14 seats, the Z-9 helicopters can carry anti-submarine torpedoes and missiles in addition to having features of electronic warfare, communications, artillery spotting, naval ship-borne anti-submarine warfare and search and rescue, the officials said.

The delivery of the frigates along with helicopters is said to be in their final stages of contractual negotiations, they said.

China to continue defence relations with Pakistan’

BEIJING: China will continue developing defence relations with Pakistan and other friendly countries, particularly in non-traditional fields, stated a white paper issued by the Chinese government on Thursday.

The 85-page paper, the fifth of its kind since 1995, gave a detail review of China’s defence cooperation with foreign countries.

Relations between China and Pakistan had strengthened over the past few years and met their security requirements. China’s military carried out anti-terrorism exercise with the Pakistan Army in 2004, which helped strengthen cooperation between both armies and improve their capacity to combat terrorism.

The Chinese government gave importance to security cooperation in the non-traditional security fields with friendly countries, the paper said, adding, “It is imperative to work together and address both the symptoms and root causes and to adopt comprehensive measures.”

According to Chinese officials, the document reassured the world of China’s pursuit of peaceful development that would pose “no obstacle or threat to any one”.

Observing that “peace and development remain the dominating themes of the times”, the white paper said, “Factors of uncertainty, instability and insecurity are on the increase in the global security situation.” “The separatist activities of forces wanting Taiwanese independence have increasingly become the biggest immediate threat to China’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as well as peace and stability on both sides of the Taiwan Straits and the Asia-Pacific region as a whole,” the white paper said. app
