    With enough fighters in service (I agree most are not medium tech) and enough defence (moving towards missiles and nukes) they can develop better planes (fc1/j10/Awacs) with China. Besides that I am glad to see that less cash moves away. Poverty reduction and improving other issues are more important. But do not expect a lot of Pakistani soldiers dying for people that are markes by the west as terrorists. Pakistani have seen enough good weather relationships in the past.

    Well with both India and Pakistan getting closer and economy put on first place, it is not bad development to me. Besides that the PAF will have to build own industry and search for own market (export). Throwing a few billions is not a simple thing.

    my two cents…

    1. Less cash throwing… Less weapons are good for economy and nukes are there to do the job.
    2. And now they really see what it means to be a ally… Being used to kill arabs but when it comes to help it is just empty words.

    There are extremist everywhere… Just like nationalists. So when a few arabs bomb westeners all the other islamic are wrong? Agree there are some people in Pakistan that are not extremely happy with westeners but would you be happy if you wanna pay cash and buy some defence but they are not intrested in selling? Or even sell soyabeans? The anti western mood is not deep rooted and is a result of stupid western behaviour. Now some are linking it to terrorism. In these days it is perfectly normal for states to eradicate groups and tell others they are terrorists… What a wonderful world.

    I don’t understand the reason for flaming. Let us look at India and Pakistan. Their most dangerous weapons are nukes fitted on missiles. Within minutes they can eradicate cities and probably whole nations. Now they buy or build decent fighterjets. And here are people talking about the LCA or mki being superior to fc1 or grippen. They talk about one having larger radar… They talk about one able to pull more G’s… I have been talking with people about using ground radars and links but nope… It is allways moving towards one being better then the other. I think it is a very difficult question. One being better then the other… Which variables and conditions? And even then… There are lot of laws (Murphy) and as our soccer God in holland writes… Every advantage had a disadvantage… So please stay on the respect part and post as many pictures as possible… Never enough. Cheers.

    I think you are wrong on that. In every problem you have this fase. It is not an easy thing you just give and take… Otherwise it wasn’t a problem for more then 50 years… Politicians are moving to the right corner. Look it as a positive thing…

    About that blackmail thing… Well Europe massed a lot of conventional and nuclear weapons to provide a wall against WarsawPact… That was balckmail? It is simple. Pakistan is 5 times smaller. India is massing up a lot of arms. Just count that for minute… And why would a democracy that is not aggressive buy so many offensive arms? No one is talking about that. They are just intrested why Pakistan is trying to defend against the Indian arms addiction. History learned that bit had enough wars. So why staying low and getting busted while you should try to prepare a decent defence? If Pakistan was intrested in offensive war then there would be no more Indian cities…

    You Pak-boosters really move your feet well. Ducking and dodging trying to turn even a tko punch into just a glancing blow. To bad all of your wild swinging only hits air.

    Now all the speculation about Gripen was really just about Erieye? Is this the ask for the moon and hope for breadcrumbs strategy of arms procurement? Obviously Pakistan approached Sweden at the lower levels about Gripen and was again rebuffed – for the umpteenth time. Musharaff and the Pakistani dreamers here are trying to save face and say it was really only about the Erieye. Maybe if Pakistan is really lucky, Sweden might agree to sell some truck parts at concessionary rates.

    Well, whether true or not some posters seems to take it very difficult. We will see. We have seen many negative reports aboujt fc1 in the past and even now. Same with any other PAF option. Funny to see first time posters using personal emotions to throw some air. We will see…

    The labour is cheap. They have plenty trained engineers and second hand can sometimes be a bargain… If you know the stuff… And they do that very well.

    Xanadu, I think it has to do with several aspects my dear Indian friend. One nation can not buy a large quatities of high tech plane. PAF is devloping a medium tech and hopin for high tech. So there are plenty low tech planes needed. In PAF that is Mirage 3/5 and the F7. The F7 has free flow from China. The mirage components are extremely expensive. Look at the french thread. The mirage 3/5 is maybe bot the newest but so are the bisons. The mriage got same major upgrades and is a decent plane. Maybe less positive… It is much better then most other planes like F7 or A5… I hope that clears it up xanadu.
