But they have seen the plane more then once. There was long time ago an article that two nations outsidce China had seen it. I have read somewhere that PAF officials were not satisfied with the avionics (That was allso the case with other Chinese planes so PAF always made custom adjustments). Flying it is a bit unlogical. They just flew the fc1 (allso a single seater….). I agree. But it is not unfamiliar plane.

I agree… The MKI is the example that showed how to deal with hightech avionics and superb planes. IAF made superb decission. The only thing we may argue about is the TVC but for the rest it is admirable.

    About Pakistan and J10…

There are some facts in AFM article:

-Pakistan will not get new(er versions of the) F16
-Pakistan will probably not get upgraded Belgian F16
-Pakistan is not allowed to add SD10 to the F16 arsenal

So… Maybe it is an ally. Maybe it is a major contributer. It will not receive (high tech) weapons. The Pakistani have found some troubles in relation to US, UK and swedish governments. US is well known (paid F16, got soyabens), Uk is even more tricky cause they could not get spare parts via friendlycountries (they stopped delivering (spare) parts for rescue choppers, and they are leaning very much to the bigger market in India), and the swedish have been changing their opinion rapidly cause it is a volatile place. So it is only French and Chinese. And looking at the fact that French delivers more then nice planes (Agusta submarines are assembled in Pakistan) and the Chinese are getting closer with them shows that the next program is J10/Fc1 with French avionics. It is all over Pakistani forums that PAF likes the J10 but not the avionics. There is a rumour that PAF will get J10 in a few months for testing inside Pakistan… I have no idea whether it is correct but the options are limited and the time is running out.

Vermuz… So getting weapons from a state means you should not point at international laws or human right conventions? I allways amuse the facts that some posters link personal ideas with military goodies but with extreme one sided opinion. And somehows it is allways in favour of some nations.

Anyway. The Turkish had enough changes in their chopper idea’s… So probably nothing strange in their internal handling of expensive toys. They have enough F16c/d’s to go on for decades… Their economy had some major negative impact so let us wait for the recovery. And them gettting into EU? Well. The US is doing it best to get that but the European nations are not that hungry. Look at some political agenda’s of the European parties. They do not want Turkey… No matter what. And you have seen how even Eastern European are treated in the first few years the joined? The EC will allways find some problems to stop Turkey.

Population suffers from starvation due to mismanagement. International food help to save those people from death. Interesting to learn that Mugabwe still has 200 mio. $ to buy weapons.

Holger if all nations got that wise then we could finish this forum cause no one would see exotic (and very expensive) weapons. Personally I would favour any social improvement. Even for very rich nations. Let us hope they will not forget the poor. But about Zimb… It is not fair that rich nations can arm and hurt others while poor nations are abused, robbed and punished. Probably your anti feelings are based in the fact that white people are treated on a bad way. I just can add… Isn’t that done for centuries by white people?

For fc1… Well. It is just a sign that there is market. So you accept Apaches used for killing a lot of civillians but a bvr plane is not ok? I allways love that very clear points towards coloured nations while the western nations can move even human rights aside and have enough collateral…

We talked several time about market for Fc1. Do we still remember the point that why buy this crap while they can get cheap western high tech? Well… This is probably just the beginning.

Even if I say just one simple objective sentence (clearly we know that the 5th plane will get avionics and the planes before that are just structural tests, AFM magazine of this months even shows the same conclusion about getting newer avionics) yet I am a dreamer?

I remember several forum members here from a certain country that said it was a paper plane and would never fly… Just ignoring them is fine but getting warninhgs from webmaster for being a badboy and these people can go on bashing? I missed some lines. Maybe someone must explain why these flamish posters have nothing else to do except behaving like top experts for Chinese planes.

    Cheers.

Yet another dreamer, the FC-1 will not be as capable as the Su-30s and the J-10, its intent was always to be a cheap BVR fighter and its cheap price will equal to inferior avionics compared to the other two, sorry to be obvious here.

It was also nice to see that nice and smokey RD-33 engine as well, shish I certainly hope that the rd-93 is cleaner.

Dreamer? I just say wait till we know what will be in it… Read the AFM (latest).. PAF wanted thi sso they could opt for newer avionics. But hey, I don’t run to webby for the fact that you act flamish…

It is still not clear which avionics it will have. So ranking it right now is a bit early.

The middle east is a dangerous place to be. Now Israel will risk less pilots so are they going to react easier? Anyway. Intresting article.

Think about being a manpad operaor. There you standing and see a mil… Is it Indian? Is it Pakistani? Then you see mig 21. Is it Indian? Is it Pakistani? The planes/choppers will not fly slow and low above heavy guarded enemy territory. And Manpad operators will no be extremely ahead of the forces. The anti tank heli’s will just be used to eradicate mass assault of Indian tanks. Not for flying around and get busted by a cheap strela… And there is a lot of difference in the open terrain where the grat tank battles will happen if compared to the chechian hilly and bushy terrain. Making conclusions based on the fact that we see chechnian sam hitting Russian chopper is far to easy. That choppers was flying around ad we did not sea any counter meassures…

The pics are getting better and better. I must admit that the IAF planes are better and better painted. Just remember those days of the strange painted mig21’s… This is a whole new episode. Keep them posting.
