    Thanks matt.

About the reduction of the army. Well, the smaller it is the better for Pakistani defence budget and workforce. The last one can be used for commercial and export activities rather driving around in tanks. I like the Dutch idea. Only professional soldiers with highly mobile and high tech gear.

“Morover they have a very solid approach towards force multipliers.”
    what force multipliers?
those Mi17s are for logistical and troop transport i presume. they have no offensive capabilities.

Awacs or refuelers do have same title… So you do not understand why logistical equipment is seen as force multiplier? I rest my case.

Kind of opposite compared to what we saw during Bosnian conflict where airsuperiority did everything… PAF must be getting tired of flying medium and low techs and expect to handle MKI…

I think it is the best to stop terrorism on the west at the same time. Throwing a lot of troops isn’t cheap or effective. Using UAV and mobile forces will Pakistan make a more effective counter force to stop drugs from Afghanistan and eradication of terrorism. We all think that it is very easy to kill some Al Qaida but the evidence is there that US is having enough troubles in Afghanistan. No wonder the Sovjets run back from this very unhealthy place for soldiers. The oppenent is not a toy. He is willing to die or hide in very very unlogical places…

I doubt whether the sovjet choppers will have impact on India. India is either getting very nice equipment like awacs and the choppers are not for assault.
Those US choppers will be less nice. Pakistan has some major tank force near Indian borders and those thinks will be very handy to stop Indian top tanks. I doubt whether they will be used in a major assault cause attacking an oppenent 5 times bigger is asking for troubles.

Agreed, let the Kaveri be mastered first before we hear talk of thrust vectored versions of it

The LCA has still a long road to go. Testing of weapons and avionics. So this is a long term matter. Those others are not simple planes so lot of time and effort will be diverted…

totally agree woth flutter and that canard and double rudder problems… Same thoughts here. Added to that. Double missiles so close to eachother is not practical. Releasing one and maneuvring… That will be dangerous. Just like the fact that the smoke will make the other screen dirty…

And those flaps on the front of the forward swept wing… pretty impossible…

refueling just behind the canard? Wow.. must be difficult to handle for a boom operator…

Those inlets are not possible with that front gear…

They want the production line around the same time as the JF17 production line. Sofar I heard they were busy with building the production facility. The Jf17 will start running around end 2006. Will look for exact data.

    Wachensomething,
Your sentiment is regrettable. He meant T37… An yes those T37 are going to be replaced by K8. And o… There is going to be a heavier armed version of the K8… And a second production line.
    Cheers.
