Downgraded or not. It shows IAF has some potent tools. Good pilots. And we all know that US needs more fundings so telling that they were “outclassed” will give them more cash… Capitalism. But so not forget that MKI is more potent… 😀

Kfarat, the SyAAF can’t even shoot down a MABAT UAV without crashing (14th of May, 1981) 😉

Well some more high tech Israeli UAV met an Aim9 above Pakistan…

Well well… this tends to move towards flaming. Israel did bomb something inside Syria. But how difficult is that. Having the info one can get (CIA/Mossad), having the best technology (planes/ECM/lbombs) to hit hard and doing it fast and sneaky… So? It happened and let us move on. Syrian defence isn’t that well supported these days and they do not have as much tech or info. Just compare it with doom… A well known game. You have all the weapons and the map is clear. The opponent may be 10 times bigger but that will never make much difference. And it suprises me that Sharma is so busy with defending. There is no need to defend. The reson is clear. So are the result. And this is not a political forum.

Different engine? I don’t think so. I think they still have to insert the engine. Look inside the place where the nozzles should be. The colour is not likely the colour of the afterburner section. And besides that I don’t think that the plane almost not variable geometry. Huge inlet… Huge engine… And such unmoveable exit? I thin it is just finished new plane (look at the colour of the metall what you think that it is a nozzle). Shining new.

Phroze… We do not know what the computers exactly do. More computers are used to avoid errors. they even use differenent languages to avoid program errors. Instable means that the tailwings give posititive force. And the plane loves to change direction rather then fly straight. And fbw can be used to limit the agility so the planes stays cool…

Nice pics. Unfortunately India is far from Europe and we can not see those lovely planes and make our own pics…

They just started upgrading some the first batch of 40 of the 140 mig27… Add to that LCA, MKI etc etc etc Atleast they have a cheap workforce but managing another 120 or so mirage 2000 and upgrading a few more… Huge. Add to that a batch for the ghorskov…

This pic shows that the much debated view of the pilot is not that bad. Frontal view is very good but if we can see from this angle that the cockpit is on top and the pilot is clear visible then he is having probably same view results… I fully agree that it is not comparable to F16 but mk2 is not much better…

Srbin. Neither were the US happy about the fact that they had lost F117 in Bosnia or Apaches in Irac. These things happen and it is bad for the PR. So nothing strange in denying bad results. And as Flex pointed out. An advanced plane is surely very comfortable but it is not a guarantee… Is that a very difficult logic? I don’t think so. About the Arab forces. They did not have the best versions of the planes at that time. If you take some time to look after the article in AFM (a few months ago) about mig23 or mig27 you will see that I made the correct assumptions. The Russian gave not the most advanced verions to the arabs. Case closed.

    PAF interested ni M2K-9??

Please God don’t bring this stupid topic back again……

I’m rather interested to see what the IAF will choose. I’d like to see some Mirage 2000-5 derivatives get the order. They’ve got the jet in service, it’s a truly potent multi-role weapon in its latest guises so I say why not?

subjective posting mr Phantom. Ignorant. Keep God and Pakistan outside this topic. Either stay out of complex political matters or use respect.

About India and new Mirages. It is indeed a complex development but the quantity is that big so the new government will do utmost best to make the best decission. India is the largest democracy and the electorate did elect this government for a purpose. Indian government is wise and we do not need to argue about PAF or the past yes and no of many projects. Let us wait and see the results.

I just wanted to end he mythical superiority. There is no myth. And that stones. But is shows the differences in approach hence the results.

About Israel. It is there and there is nothing wrong with that. About the government actions… Extremely wrong. Same about the attacks of the other side. Don’t get me wrong friend.

I am not here to add flames to this topic but since you are flames about who is superior…

I think when it come to number the Israeli Airforce did a superb job. No doubt. But is it as fair fight? If you are standing in a arena. All you opponents are blinded and you get all the weapons and info… How great is the superb part then… They won indeed. But getting latest weapons and info does make the victory less important… It is like fighting with merkava and
apache against stone throwing kids… The winner is clear but that is all.

About the arabs. They had not the best pilots. They had not the best versions of the available planes. They had no info. They had bad training. And they fought with their heart and not their mind…

Israel won. Let us move on. War is never a nice experience. Just like terrorism.
