RE: ok
I would agree with a lot of the choices here, especially Saving Private Ryan, Cross of Iron, Das Boot and Memphis Belle. I would also add in Enemy at the Gates and (perhaps slightly controversially) Top Gun – crap story, but some really wonderful flying sequences.
RE: What makes you proud of your country?
As a fellow Brit I would agree 100% with all of that

Although, IIRC, the next line is “If you manage this, please tell me how” ๐
RE: I will not leave
Good for you! I get really sick and tired of people who think that they can say and do anything they like to anyone they like just because they are online. I have seen it here, in the AFM forum, the alt.aviation.military newsgroup – hell, even the newsgroups at work.
I am willing to bet that in each case the perpetrators wouldn’t have the nerve to say the things they do in person and so take the coward’s way out. I am glad to see that you are not going to give them the satisfaction of driving you off.
RE: Please leave him alone UK press!

Who says the manager never scores? ๐
RE: computer problem
If I had to guess (and it is just a guess) I would say that the problem doesn’t lie with your computer, but rather with the server software used to run the forum. It is possible that there is a limit to the number of topics that can be shown on one page and that there may be a link somewhere to an additional page with the rest of the replies on.
RE: Airborne T-80 Main Battle Tank
Great picture! Now, the question is: did it hit what it was aiming at? ๐
RE: Airborne T-80 Main Battle Tank
Perhaps not the exact picture referenced, but one in a similar vein of a T-90S during a mobility exercise.

RE: next quiz
The format of the last one was pretty much on the money: nice spread of topics that mean that specialists won’t automatically score high, and non-specialists won’t feel left out.
RE: Favourite Holiday Destination
For me it would have to be Canada – Montreal specifically. Firstly its a wonderful city and secondly (and far more importantly!) my girlfriend lives there ๐
RE: next quiz
Oh go on, you know you want to…
RE: Bond, James Bond is Spain
He was near Aldershot (where I live) not so long ago. Not as glamourous, maybe, but I still can’t believe I missed it ๐

Ah, good old Satire Wire ๐ Our Aussie colleagues on this forum may be interested in the following story from the same source:

The only other thing I can think of that was special about the Ki-61’s engine is that it was a license prodeuced version of the engine that powered the Me-109.
Oh, and the other place Napoleon was sent to was Elba. I really should learn to read the question more thoroughly!
