I regularly drink very strong beer (12% and also 14%) and I’ve never been drunk once.
I loved that series – much better than EasyJet!! My Mum always said that she thought some of the “passengers” may even be actors, as so often when people “forgot” their passports, there would always be a camera crew at the “passenger’s” home waiting to film someone collecting the “forgotten” passport, some are so obviously put up jobs, but worth watching none the less.

Comet , you see , different flights different opinions. My experince with Icelandair was just brilliant and Sabena the worst of my life !!
I think alot of the time what makes a flight good or bad is the attitude of the cabin crew. When I flew Air New Zealand I invariably came across surly cabin attendants who were often rude to passengers. The cabin staff on Icelandair were always fine, but I had a really bad experience last time I flew with them relating to a faulty aircraft, and I said I would never fly with them again. With Sabena I always experienced professional, friendly staff and clean aircraft, I always enjoyed my flights with them, though I understand that others did have problems with them, often relating to lost luggage. I say the same about Air France, all my experiences with them have been positive and I would fly with them again.
For looks there is no competition whatsoever – the TriStar gets it. The nose of the DC-10 looks squashed, the TriStar has a beautifully shaped nose. The DC-10’s rear engine looks just awful, the TriStar’s rear engine blends in nicely. I’ve not flown on either type so I can only comment on appearance, but I would have thought that the L1011 had a better safety record.
My favourite of all time was Sabena. My current favourite is VLM, I have not flown with SN Brussels yet but I am sure that they will be excellent. I also like Finnair and Air France have been good when I’ve flown with them. BA were okay and so were Cyprus Airways and Iberia. I wouldn’t fly Icelandair or Air New Zealand again.
I used to work in Scarborough Hospital, the food in the staff canteen there was good. This food was also sold to visitors and provided for the patients. There was a high number of ethnic minority medical staff at the hospital and they were catered for admirably with various meat and vegetarian options. I never heard one complaint from either staff or patients about the standard of food in that hospital, and so if all hospitals could be like that there should be no need for junk food stalls anywhere in the NHS.

Thanks A330Crazy – they are great photos (I never knew that Sabena flew into Antwerp, I thought it was a small regional airport).
They will look great in the album, thanks again. 🙂
Anything is better than the nose spot fashion. Cheatlines are not so bad.
My Icelandair flights were on the following types Boeing 727-100 (TF-FLG), Fokker 27 (do not remember registrations but there were four flights), Fokker 50 (TF-FIS), Boeing 737-400 (TF-FIA, TF-FIB, TF-FIC (a real ***** that plane) and TF-FID. All the flights by 737 were okay except for ones in FIC. My last Icelandair flight was on that bloody thing and after that experience I vowed I would never fly with the airline again. The damned thing broke down as it was heading for the runway to fly back to Glasgow from Keflavik. We spent half an hour in our seats whilst the thing was “repaired” and then I experienced my worst ever take off on any aircraft. The cabin crew were in tears and we sat and prayed (yes, we prayed!!) that the damned thing would actually make it to Glasgow. It did, and we were greeted by the airport’s fire engines as we landed. That was my worst flight ever, the only time I have been terrified on any aircraft and I vowed I would never again fly with that bloody awful airline. If it meant I never went back to Iceland then so be it.
I had never had a pleasant flight in TF-FIC, but that last one really sealed it for me as far as Icelandair was concerned.
I’m flying with them in September (London City to Antwerp), I hope I don’t end up with a flying advert!!:)
