I have no time for the American government, but the American people are super, very friendly and helpful, and, I’ve found, always ready to talk to you. I have loved my trips to the US immensely, which I wouldn’t have done if the people were awful. I think the ordinary American people are made to suffer for something which is not their fault. Look at 9/11, deliberately targeting civilians out of a dislike for American foreign policy.

Is he definitely dead? I read that it may be a ploy to throw people off his scent and enable him to escape quietly. I hope he is still alive, he has become quite a cult figure.

It is always saddening when the great old airlines are on the verge of folding, I wouldn’t have thought at one time that carriers such as UA and AA would be in this position. I don’t want to see them cease operations, even though I’ve never had any dealings with them. I have a friend who always swore by AA when she went to Florida, but other than that I don’t know anyone who’s flown with them. As Greekdude said, the USA/Pacific routes are usually busy, whichever airline flies them, but that is not usually a measure of how the airline is doing. I never went on a Sabena flight which was anything other than full, and from what I used to hear about their flights, other routes were often booked up as well, but they still ended up going. It’s invariably down to poor management at the end of the day.
Thanks for the good wishes (Kabir – the Heineken’s are on me:)!!) It’s a perfect day to have a birthday – gorgeous sunny weather here in Scarborough, just have to decide what to do with the rest of the day, my birthday present is in the fridge chilling for tonight (my second ever bottle of Chimay Triple beer, and a new glass to go with it!!)

I liked to make planes out of Lego. I also used to help my Grandad make models of WW2 aircraft.
The only models I have now are a Sabena A319, a BA Concorde, a Sabena 747-300, a Sabena A310 and an AF A340.
There’s only one possible choice for me – SABENA!!!!!!!!!!
