Only one contender for me – CDG. The worst airport I have EVER used. Very few shops. Very few restaurants (we eventually found one in the basement which was used by airport staff). Terrible for viewing. The airport staff I’ve come across there have all been very pleasant, but that’s all I can say in its favour.
There are many airports I’ve enjoyed using. LHR – for the sheer range of airlines and types (inc Concorde), LAX – excellent for viewing and photography and for seeing airlines you won’t see in the UK, HEL – for ease of photography and the best airport sandwich I’ve ever had (smoked salmon – gorgeous), LCY – a wonderful little gem of an airport, great fun on the approach which gives superb views of London landmarks whilst providing some extremely sharp turns whilst descending, Isafjordur in Iceland for the same reasons as LCY. My dear favourite is BRU. I cannot give numbers of airlines using it, but I think the dominant airline is SN Brussels Airlines. In the departure area, viewing is unrivalled, there is a good range of shops, good range of restaurants. Like most airports, the check in area is on the ground floor, departures, restaurants and shops on the first floor. There are three sections to the terminal, called Topaz, Sapphire and Diamond. A new pier has just been opened with more restaurants and shops. I am sorry I won’t be using it this year.
Got it in one Hand – I remember that place before the City Hall was built, they drained away part of the lake and ruined it in my opinion.

SOFTLAD – what I said then was in the heat of the moment, I admit I went through a bad patch on the forum and I’ve moved on and put it behind me. I have no grudges against anyone or any airline and I want to make that clear.
Great stuff Andrew, it’s good to see more photos posted taken by forum members themselves. Let’s see more “originals” please, it is much more interesting than seeing pics from Airliners.net all the time.

Sorry to chip in on someone else’s question…
It’s Reykjavik in Iceland – my old stamping ground before I discovered Belgium 🙂

I am worried by this – not because I am flying with MYT but because the holiday company I booked my holiday with is part of the MyTravel Group. I would be devastated if I lost this holiday because it’s nine days in Belgium, in Mechelen, with VLM, and no other company but Belgian Travel (part of Bridge Travel) offers this combination.
It’s twenty years since I visited Cosford, I loved the place then and have wanted to re-visit for years though I never get chance.
More on their Comet – it was a Comet 1A, the export version of the Comet 1. It had originally carried French registration but after the disasters it was given a military registration. When it was handed over to Cosford it was painted up to represent BOAC, though it had never served with the airline. BOAC’s only Comet 1A was G-ANAV, which had originally been intended for Canadian Pacific, but they cancelled their Comet order after one of their Comets crashed on its delivery flight in Karachi. G-ANAV was used by the RAE in the tests after the disasters, and when the tests were completed it was broken up and the nose presented to the Science Museum. It is not there now, and there are no other surviving Comet 1s of any variant, which is a pity. The Cosford Comet needs to be protected.

Lets have more included in these photos like your spouse, girl/boy-freind, house, car, computer workstation, pet, whatever.
On my photo you have the horse Kappi. The person on the horse beside me is my Mum, her horse is Freykja, also an Icelandic horse.

Shouldn’t that be “PICS” of the day?
Great photos.
I think London City Airport is a big security risk – there is a long walkway which runs parallel to the runway, giving completely unrestricted views of all aircraft. It would be all too easy to launch a missile or shot at an aircraft there, and viewing is in no way discouraged, I spent ages there in September with my camcorder, and no one takes any notice. There should be more security patrols in all airport areas like that, including searches if necessary. People who are innocently viewing would have nothing to fear, and it may act as a deterrent to those with other motives.
Edmund Halley – I don’t remember ever being chased by you 🙂
Love from Comet!!
